What should you throw away?

Lots of old Christmas and birthday cards. Ticket stubs from concerts. Thousands of books. My old school exercise books! Tons of photos. Christmas decs I've not put up for 15 years.

I have a huge bag of mum's stuff I brought back from the care home. I will cull that for sure but I can't face doing it yet for some reason.

Old cat collars and toys from cats long gone. Concert programs. My school reports. Old make up and nail varnish I do need to cull.

Everything is tidied away though in boxes or cases.
I'll never throw out concert tickets or programs. They're reminders of wonderful nights and experiences. I see an old concert ticket the whole night comes flooding back to me

I donate clothes regularly, so that's not a problem I have a metal file cabinet containing genealogical research notes. I threw away about half of it a few weeks ago, but I may need the rest of it. I plan to put a not on the cabinet, telling my kids to toss all of it when I'm gone. I really need to get rid of all the partially full paint cans in the garage.

I have 3 old spare tires from trucks I sold years ago. Tire stores have disposal fees. I can put the tires in my trash if I can get them off the rims and cut them into smaller pieces. I watched some videos for techniques to try tomorrow. I have a bottle jack, crowbar, bolt cutter, and recip saw.

You could plant potatoes in the tyres.

17 years in the same house and shop, I feel I have a ton of shit to unload. Moving later in the year and I HAVE to downsize. My hoarder bride has more than me to get rid of.

The hardest part for me in throwing stuff away is learned behavior from my Dad. He was a depression era guy and had a hard time throwing away anything he thought he might need some day, I have that same learned behavior. I had a 36 by 56 pole barn about 3/4 full of stuff that I was sure I couldn't live without. I am very sentimental and I have a hard time getting rid of my Dad's stuff. Although like I stated elsewhere I junked, sold and gave away a ton of stuff. I dread having to do it again when we move back to the land of eternal winter,

There's a closet in the hallway that gets stuff put into it but virtually nothing ever comes back out. Pretty sure everything in there should be thrown out.

My Mom passed away about 2 years ago and I still haven't gone through the stuff I stored when I cleaned out her house.
