I read a recent article where a woman needed her husband's permission to do this. It was a private practice.

All of this feels so gross.

That's vile.

I'm actually terrified of having surgery. I have this fear that I'll wake up, mid-surgery, completely unable to move or speak but aware of everything that's happening. (I realize this isn't exactly common, but it terrifies me.) So for me to make this decision is huge. But I don't see where I have any choice because I will not be subject to forced birth.

This happened to me in 2011. It was terrifying. They didn't know until the anesthesiologist saw my tears. I felt no pain but I could feel everything and hear their conversation.

Period trackers are a start, but it goes way beyond that.

There are literally hundreds of thousands of apps out there that track the user's location and pass it along to "market research" companies who'll sell the data to just about anybody with the money. Some of them have a "no law enforcement" clause but with things like Texas's bounty laws that encourage private citizens to snitch, that's pretty much meaningless.

With that kind of history you can run a search for things like "find me all the phones that visited X abortion clinic after Y date and then show me the addresses where those phones live at night".

Bottom line, if you are going anywhere that you don't want to be effectively public knowledge, leave your phone at home (turned on). And don't use it for abortion-related searches etc.

Unless you're somebody who is safe from this bullshit, in which case, doing abortion-related searches might help provide cover for others.

It gets more complicated than this, too. Abortion is just the start. Healthcare as a whole for women is being impacted. I’m currently watching for medication refusals. Depending on the state, there’s reports of doctors and pharmacists refusing to prescribe and fill certain medications because they have abortifacient effects. I take one of these medications currently and need it to continue functioning. This likely won’t impact me yet but I live in a state that has a “hold my beer” motto when it comes to legislation.

I will have new insurance sometime this month but I have no idea when and what it will cost or cover. It looks like the old insurance fought against covering the Rx so back to square one for me.

My rage knows no bounds.

I'd say 16, 17 years ago, my wife went in to get her tubes tied. The surgeon came out and asked ME if that's what I wanted. I screamed at him, one of the nurses came over and moved the man away. I demanded that she have a new surgeon, that what he asked was beyond disgusting!

Her gynecologist came 10 minutes later, and had a new surgeon come and do it. Once the surgery was over, she was in recovery, the scrub nurse who stopped me from belting the doctor came and told me that the man does that to all the husbands, but I was the only one who demanded he NOT touch my wife.

Fucking hell! SCOTUS is a terrorist organization!!

Call your HR or new ins. I was told by my ins person when I went thru this in Feb. that coverage always starts on the first day of the month.

It's not even the 4th yet, and my idiot neighbors won't stop shooting fireworks so I can log back in to work. It was storming earlier, so I was able to work. But when the storms stopped, I went to shower. When I came back, the fireworks had started and have been going on for over an hour at this point.

I woke up to an email from the rental office that they're sending people by for a walk-through of the apartment complex on Tuesday. My place is currently a wreck, so I have to spend valuable time that I need to be spending working (so I can pay the rental people their stupid rent, dammit) on cleaning.

Also, I bought a brand-new bottle of Wellbutrin yesterday. I distinctly remember taking yesterday's dose and then setting it down on the bathroom counter with the rest of my meds. Why, then, is that bottle of Wellbutrin missing today? I don't know, but I need to find it because I don't have the funds to replace it right now, and I need those meds.

Ugh. So annoyed with myself right now.

We always joke that we need to invite people over regularly, so we have to get the house in shape. Some clutter seems to creep up and be invisible until you watch it through someone elses eyes.
Never fun when it’s in the middle og busy times though, or forced.
