Stage 2. Told boss what the client said. Waited 15 minutes got no response. Left site. Stopped to grab some breakfast and just got a call saying "he can't do that. Go back and do it any way."

Le sigh.

Well, I did it to myself. I kept seeing so many people make claims about Cetaphil being awesome. So I picked up a trial size and used it the other night. At first, I thought all was well. But later that evening...

My face started itching and I realized it was all bumpy! Σ(゚д゚lll)I looked in the mirror to find it had completely irritated my face! This is my fault for not reading, but when I looked at the ingredients (listed behind a plastic cover that just says to "peel here") I found that it was basically toxic sludge. The only decent ingredient was water.

So now I look like I'm some silly, acne covered teenager! Argh! I hate that I fell for all the bullshit. I will just stick to my normal routine from now on.

My body continuing to betray me, even when I'm trying to treat it appropriately and give it what it needs.

*curious* I have also used Cetaphil for that reason, but I never really looked...

*goes to check*

hmm. water.
cetyl alcohol (fatty alcohol, emolliant/emulsifyer, known to cause reactions with eczema, possibly due to impurities versus the alcohol itself),
propylene glycol (fatty alcohols, solvent, generally considered innoculous),
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (surfacant, known to cause sensitivity),
Stearyl Alochol (fatty alcohol, minimal concern),
Methyl, propyl, butyl hydroxybenzoate (i.e. parabens, preservatives, derived from naturally occurring chemicals, generally considered innocuous, but some studies have linked them with sensitivities and cancers. Concentrations used may not have ANY effect, but generally considered 'to avoid' by those concerned)

Overall, I'd rate this "slightly better than other commerical nonsoap skin cleansers". It does have the benefit of being fragrance and soap free, which is why I deem it slightly better. But if you have sensitive skin overall, I can see where it'd cause problems, particularly with the laurel sulfate and Cetyl alcohol.

Come to think of it, I do seem to have more problems with razor burn when i use it as "shaving cream" (Because fuck paying for shaving cream). I don't any other time, but certainly worth thinking about.

And yes. I am bored/weird to look all that up. NOW I KNOW. Bill Nye would be proud.

Actually, I don't have sensitive skin on my face. It just broke me out like crazy. :( I read a lot of people seem to have allergic reactions or break out after using it. I made the mistake of assuming that minimal ingredients meant better. I was wrong.

To be fair, minimal ingredients do often mean better on the whole. Everyone is different when it comes to allergies, and ANYTHING AT ALL with a protein can elicit an allergic reaction. Looking at it, Cetaphil certainly is better than a lot of other products, but that doesn't mean it's better for EVERYONE. Your skin doesn't like it, so it doesn't matter how good/bad it is for other people, or on the label.

The ingredient length rule may apply better with foodstuffs than body care products. It seems almost all commercial products we're using on our skin have SOME degree of manufactured chemicals in them, and I haven't noticed much without that notorious lauryl sulfate.

You could always make your own face scrub? I know there's plenty of recipes on the internet. They always tout the makebelieve benefits of Epsom Salts, too

(no, Epsom Salts WON'T draw toxins out of your body. Skin doesn't work that way.)

I generally don't use much in the way of cleaners. I stick to oils and foods for my skin care. I just had a moment stupidity. Sometimes, when I'm shopping, I think "a couple dollars on something isn't so bad, let's try it!" Usually I splurge on a $2.00 bottle of nail polish. This time I decided to try something not made of honey, sugar, or oil to wash my face. So far, rose water is my best friend in fixing what this shit has done to my face.

Bone spurs decided last night to touch a nerve in my foot while I was walking downstairs, causing pain.

This morning, I couldn't put on my shoe because the foot was too swollen.

And now, it's throbbing, despite the Advil and Tylenol!!

Oh dear. I don't think you are going to like the treatment, either... :(

If this flare up lasts more than 5 days, I see my doctor. Then we'll determine the next step. Fortunately, one thing I can do is soak my foot in a pool LOL That will take some pain away for a few moments

The moron who - regularly  - insists on waxing eloquent on areas of expertise he knows nothing about. If you don’t have time to wade through the primary research pick up a damn review paper. A REVIEW PAPER! How hard is it.

I was having a pretty good day. Slept well (rare for me), kiddo was happy, got to talk with my aunt who's out visiting.

Then came my appointment with the "doctor" from one of the worst clinics I've ever been to. Given that I'm prior military and had to care for a patient where the docs operated on the wrong hand, this says a lot.

Miserable appointment followed by a fetal heart monitoring session that I just barely missed going to the hospital for ensued. I have chronic medical issues, makes me a PITA patient, I get this. Really, I know that I'm difficult to treat sometimes but to flat out ignore me, brush me off like I don't know my body and act as if I'm perfectly fine isn't fair. Hell, the nurse that did the FHM was the first to ask if I was in pain in that clinic. I'm 40+ weeks along and no one else thought that a pertinent question.

Get home, try to destress with some Skyrim and then find out an uncle that I hadn't seen in years died in a kayaking accident over the weekend. While I'm not hit with the sobs over him dying, I feel horrid for my grandmother and father. My grandfather died a few days before this past Christmas. To loose a child/brother so soon after that makes my heart ache for them.

Just a shitty afternoon/evening.

Customers who place big, elaborate orders, then can't pay for them.

In my industry, we have a saying. If the client says "money is no object", then they aren't going to pay us. Unless they have pet insurance, but they usually say that AFTER "money is no object".

Also acceptable after-phrases "We'll work it out," "here's a deposit", and "this is my X-person and they're going to help." (followed by "YEHP!")

I keep doing that thing where i sculpt a line that is damn near perfect.
And then I go to nudge it into perfect, ruin it entirely, and spend an hour trying to regain the lovely line I had in the first place.

So frustrated.
