What makes a GM erotic story "erotic" to you?

I'm a straight male thinking about trying to write a story in the GM category, and my question is addressed to people who read stories in this category a lot.

Let me explain what I mean:

If you ask me -- what's erotic about a male-female erotic story? -- I would say, nothing in particular. To be erotic, it needs some extra element or kink: exhibitionism, reluctance, dominance-submission, age difference, incest, whatever.

From a straight male point of view, the interest in a GM story is that it presents a conflict with what one has been raised with, and with the expectations of the people around one. That conflict can make a story erotic and interesting.

I'm curious, though, what people who read stories in this category a lot think. What are you looking for in a story in this category that excites you or interests you?
