What Made You Smile Today, v6

A two year old message from special Litster …replying to one I sent long before that. She reminded me of a funny tale from when we met up.

It's 6am here. Check my messages and there's thar red marker.
That makes me smile.

And so does reading this particular thread each morning .
I think this is my new way to start the day.
This thread and the one about what made you laugh today!

Both so good.
Thank you barefoot.
Love your style lady 🫠

I can only describe what milkweed and flax smell like right now. Soooooo fragrant. And great for pollinators.

I literally had to Google how to describe the smell:

The Fragrant Bloom of Milkweed
When milkweed flowers are in bloom, they release a distinctive and often delightful scent. This fragrance plays a key role in attracting pollinators, especially butterflies and bees.
The scent of milkweed in bloom is generally described as:
  • Sweet: The most commonly cited characteristic is a strong, sweet fragrance.
  • Honey-like: Some descriptions include notes of honey in the scent.
  • Spicy: The scent may also have a spicy undertone.
  • Vanilla or candy-like: Swamp milkweed (Asclepias incarnata) is noted for a particularly sweet, vanilla or candy-like fragrance.
  • Lilac-like: The scent of Common Milkweed (Asclepias syriaca) is often compared to the fragrance of lilacs.
  • Fruity: Some individuals detect a fruity flavor, like strawberry, alongside the lilac aroma.
Individual Experiences:
  • One person described the scent as "intoxicating" and embodying "high summer".
  • Another found the fragrance "mesmerizing" on a summer's day.
  • Amother mentioned the aroma being "overwhelming, but in a great way.”
