What made you smile or laugh today? Part IV

The first bud ever of my fishbone cactus just opened a few hours ago!

I thought it might be orange or red, but the color of the bud got quite a bit lighter as it grew longer and here’s what it ended up being. Pretty and extremely fragrant!

The light is very pretty today. And the colors in general. Muted, subtle. It’s like looking at a very stylish painting.

"We took the train to magic school. It was disappointing. The platform wasn't hidden and the only food service was a cart with stale egg salad sandwiches expiring today."

Apfelwein and talking about how we were traumatized by Struwwelpeter as kids.

It’s been a really good day and a really good trip. ☺️
Struwwelpeter is brutal.

Really sorry I missed meeting you. Viel Spaß noch und prost!

Sure is brutal! Many a nightmarish moment has been lived with the pic of guy running after a kid with big scissors trying to cut the thumbs and the story about the kid burning alive.

The olden time fairy tales just were a little different.

It would have been nice to meet you, but schedules are what they are. Hopefully another time!

Instead, I went to a dinner with J and his friends. It was fun and we ended up hanging out with some local retirees for a while as well after they approached us and asked about what language we were speaking. 😁

Realising I'm not mad about it and that I'm glad to have spent the time as I did. Would have liked more but appreciate what was. Time definitely worth a few smiles 🖤

I've never heard of a napkin protocol, and now I'm very interested to know what is included!
Sadly it doesn’t seem to be a real thing. 😂

I talked with a friend about when to use which kind of napkin. It turned into a funny, weird conversation.

I finally slept well last night. It’s been such mayhem at work and in life in general that I kind of stopped sleeping for a moment there. I can finally feel I’m starting to relax, and still over a week of vacation left.

Making tentative travel plans for 2025 has been very smile worthy as well. ☺️

Shoe prints and deer hoof prints.

The small beer I made turned out really good, it just took a little longer than usual to brew. I don’t usually even like small beer, but I make it somewhat regularly, because J likes it. But this batch turned out super tasty!

I finally cleaned and organized the kitchen drawer I’ve been eyeing at for months.

Duck Detective Eugene McQuacklin.

Nick Knatterton.

Cleaning the rest of the kitchen drawers and the fridge and organizing the freezer. I have so much rhubarb and mushrooms in the freezer, gotta start using them up!
