I had to get together with 2 of my very good friends to work on a group project for school. Probably not something that would put others in a good mood, but it certainly helped me smile and laugh today. I needed it too.

I actually hate group projects because it becomes such a social thing.

I agree! Especially frustrating if you're busy outside of the project and others are not, hard to keep everyone on track without being rude

I don't think the 2 are mutually exclusive- being straight forward and not caring. I care. A lot. I am also very straightforward.

Just be yourself. Say what you feel. Hold your ground. Ya know?

Yah I get what you're saying. Sometimes I worry that I'm going to hurt someone's feeling by being straight forward. Like I have a coworker that has a lot of anxiety and sometimes he corners me in these long chats and I can tell it's because he's anxious about something and it's just like non stop nervous chatter. I want to be there for him and listen but I know he won't naturally end the conversation so I have to plan an exit strategy and I worry about his feelings getting hurt if I cut him off but at the same time I shouldn't because those are his feelings not mine and I can't control now he reacts.

And he's a big boy.

Shit, I do it too, sometimes. It's part of nurturing. I've developed a thicker skin over the years, however.
 
Running into a friend in the grocery store who proceeds to tell me that I look damn good, for having had twins not that long ago. Made my night :D

Okay dogs are the topic. We stopped at Hardee's this morning for my biscuits and gravy fix. Car next to mine had a cute little white poodle inside with a pink collar on and was licking the side window glass. I stepped over and licked the glass from the outside. Sort of kissing dog fashioned.
The little old lady inside smiled. I believe it was her dog and she wanted me to kiss her too.:kiss:
 
Had lunch with a friend today who I see but I don't get to SEE so it was nice. Had some serious conversations but we joked in between so it was a good time.
 
Even well caffeinated, I love my dog! She's a sweet little beagle/dachshund mix who is still quite young (three, near the end of October). Every morning we take a walk toward the water, and as we get closer and she can hear the seagulls she gets more excited. Often times I find myself being the one run instead of her! She loves the snow as well!
 
I way over caffeinated this morning and when that happens I get a little crazy and the weirdness starts to leak out. My coworker challenged me to see how long I could go trying my hardest to be normal.

I lasted a whole minute before I started silently laughing at absolutely nothing. I couldn't even talk, every time I tried it came out in the most ridiculous high pitched sing song voice and my coworker would parrot it back at me which sent me into a cackle.

I'm pretty sure everyone thought I had lost it. That's when I threw away the rest of my coffee, such a waste.
