Loving my girl makes me smile

A student wore his zoot suit to school simply because I was at the swing section of my music unit. (Maybe you have to be a teacher, but it was cool...)

Listening to someone singing while she works.

Making some earrings and having them be well-received.

ETA: A moment of quiet peace in a parking lot, as I happened to look at my keys instead of simply using them to start my car. A flash of light glinted and caught my eye and I found myself looking at the items I hold most dear in this world:

A gold ring, too large to wear
An antique key with a small heart drawn on
A small brass key to a lock no longer worn, but still of great importance
A surgical steel curved barbell held fast in a copper cage
A P-38 can opener
A small heart made of copper wire

With the exception of the can opener (an off-handed gift from my dad when he returned from some deployment when I was still in the single digits of age), the items are from my two gals. In my life, there are three items that are on me essentially at all times: my glasses, my wallet, and my keys; and of the three, my keys are by far the most important. It made me smile to be reminded why they are so very important.

Milk chocolate with almonds. The corner store has been restocked YAY!! I bought 3 bars And I'll hoard them jealously for the next 2 weeks as I nibble down the gooey goodness.

Also awesome friends. Supportive people. Realizing that Confuscious actually had some good things to say if one can get past the verbiage to the wisdom. Receiving encouragement from real friends who know me well. Made me smile.

Knowing I will get a phone of my own soon and I'm making sure to get one with picture and video options...

oh good lord. I dont know if you saw my phone the other weekend, but the blackjack is a really great and inexpensive phone for such purposes. Although, you could just go ahead and get her the iPhone and have the att internet service suspended so that she can only use the internal wifi connections to surf the web. MUCH CHEAPER!!!

I told her I'd spend the same amount on her phone as I do mine and her bro's. She has to pay any difference out of her own money or lose the phone.
