NAPANEE - David Frost was the "boss" of the teenagers around him, dangling their NHL dreams in front of them - all while arranging sessions of three-way sex and insisting on it for several years, a woman testified yesterday yesterday.
Jennifer Hicks, who dated one of Mr. Frost's Quinte Hawks players between 1996 and 2001, told a court she was pressured into having sex with the former NHL agent and her ex-boyfriend soon after she began dating the player. She was 16 at the time.
Three-way sex with her boyfriend and the coach eventually became the norm, she said. And it didn't stop there: Ms. Hicks claimed she had sex with other players and Mr. Frost, and with her boyfriend's 14-year-old brother while Mr. Frost watched.
Former NHL player agent and minor league hockey coach David Frost has pleaded not guilty to four charges of sexual exploitation stemming from alleged incidents when he coached the Quinte Hawks.

Ms. Hicks cried during her testimony and said she did not want to participate in the sexual activity, but that she had not wanted to lose her boyfriend.
Mr. Frost, 41, claims threesomes with two of his ex-players and their former girlfriends did not happen and has pleaded not guilty to four charges of sexual exploitation related to the alleged incidents.
The Crown alleges he was able to sexually exploit two players because he controlled them. Ms. Hicks' friend has already testified that she twice had three-way sex with Mr. Frost and her then-boyfriend in 1997.
Today, Mr. Frost's lawyer, Marie Henein, is expected to try to undermine evidence that came out during Crown-led testimony from Ms. Hicks yesterday - the idea that she and others were controlled and directed by Mr. Frost - by questioning her about several alleged sexual incidents that occurred without Mr. Frost present, including other threesomes.
Yesterday, Ms. Hicks said Mr. Frost ran the lives of some of his players, including her boyfriend, who was among players living with him at a hotel during the 1996-1997 season. His name is protected by a publication ban.
Ms. Hicks was not allowed call her boyfriend and he needed Mr. Frost's permission to call her, she said. At the hotel, "there was a look that (Mr. Frost) would give and everyone would jump," she said. Ms. Hicks said her boyfriend and others thought Mr. Frost was their ticket to hockey careers.
After the first couple of times Ms. Hicks and her boyfriend had sex, Mr. Frost called and said her boyfriend wanted to talk, she said. Her boyfriend asked her to have sex with him and Mr. Frost at the hotel, said Ms. Hicks, now a 28-year-old fitness centre manger.
"Either you do it or we're not together anymore," Ms. Hicks recalled her boyfriend saying.
She was shocked, but after talking to a friend, agreed and went to the hotel that night, she testified.
She entered a bedroom with her boyfriend and got into bed between him and Mr. Frost, she said. Mr. Frost got on top of her and asked her boyfriend to touch him, Ms. Hicks said.
She said her boyfriend had trouble getting an erection, and Mr. Frost called him a wimp, tugged on his penis and asked him why he couldn't get erect.
Eventually, she and her boyfriend, who was nervous and "not himself" at the time, had sex, she said. Ms. Hicks said she later felt "awful - like it wasn't right."
She and her boyfriend had sex alone a couple of times after that, and again had three-way sex with Mr. Frost, the court heard. After that, "there was never asking anymore. (Mr. Frost) was just always in the room," Ms. Hicks said, estimating that she and her boyfriend had sex alone only five or six times that season.
She said the sex, which continued after her boyfriend made it into professional hockey, sparked arguments and became "robotic."
When Ms. Hicks asked her boyfriend when the sex would end, he said Mr. Frost "preaches the rules, so we have to follow them," Ms. Hicks testified.
She said Mr. Frost would not give her boyfriend permission to have sex alone with her if he played poorly, so when they did have sex they kept it secret.
Ms. Hicks, who lived on and off with Mr. Frost and her boyfriend during their relationship, told the court of other alleged incidents, some of which involved other players.
* Ms. Hicks said she had sex on a bed with her boyfriend and Mr. Frost in a hotel room while another couple were on a second bed.
* In the summer of 1998, Mr. Frost told one of his players - not her boyfriend - to have sex with her, she said. The boy said he didn't want to, but Mr. Frost insisted, Ms. Hicks testified. The boy apologized before having sex with her, Ms. Hicks said. Ms. Hicks, who was then living in Brampton with Mr. Frost and her boyfriend, said: "I didn't have a choice. "Dave was the boss. We do what he says."
* Another time, Mr. Frost suggested she have sex with her boyfriend's brother, a 14-year-old virgin, Ms. Hicks said. She had sex with the boy on the floor while her boyfriend and Mr. Frost were in the room, she said.
* Ms. Hicks said she also had sex with Mike Jefferson (now Danton), Mr. Frost and her boyfriend several times.
Despite the alleged incidents, Ms. Hicks wrote Mr. Frost a letter thanking him for his hospitality when she stayed with him and his players, the court heard.
"Thanks for letting me into your life with open arms. Most of all, thanks for being you! I love you and your friendship!" she wrote.
Yesterday, Ms. Hicks said Mr. Frost had done some things to help the players' careers and that at the time, "I was still part of it. I was still under the influence."
