I was talking with a frined, and was discussing flowers. So it led me to wonder What is your favorite potted plant? Also, Which is your favorite flower to be given?

My favorite potted plants are daffodils and Daisies. To be given, I love stargazer lilies and I love orange roses.

Favourite potted: Venus Flytrap

To be given: Never had it happen so I don't know.

Anything that does well with benign neglect, particularly over-watering followed by prolonged droughts.

Anything plastic. The only thing I know how to keep alive are mammals.

Flowers: Clematis, rose, daisies, lilies, orchids.

Houseplants: Miniature bamboo, miniature azaleas, miniature palm trees, flaming Katies (I can't remember their proper name, but I have lots of these. :D)

Mandrake.

Poison Ivy.

You'd probably love what I've heard called "Cat Vine." Quills sharp enough to go through leather gloves. And the sting....

Hmmmmm, outside plants would have to be one called a Persian Shield.

Favorite flower would be the "Bird of Paradise".

Cat

Ouch, I was just informed by one of my feline owners that my new outside favorite is Catnip. :catroar:

Potted plants: string of pearls, and aloe vera.

Flower: Tiger Lilies, always.

My favorite houseplant is a collection I have in the Calathea family. Their leaves stand straight up on their stalks at night, and relax down during the day.

As a gift, I love roses...

Flower? Red rose

I didn't see the rose part of your post the first time by, Crim. Must have been distracted by something over to the left. You reckon? Anyway, here is a red rose for a beautiful lady.

Call me a wuss, but I love pansies. They're pretty and polite and unassuming, and they always look like they're just about to say something. I'd love to hear what they have to say.

Daffodils always make me smile though. They're just so goofy and optimistic.

Poppies and morning glories. They're both narcotic. Morning glories are terribly sexual too: vaginas on the vine. Tiger lillies have the sexiest stamens.

I have to put in a word for moss too. Mosses are primitive little plants that have weird sex lives. They alternate between sexual reproduction which produces sperm and eggs (yes, sperm. Not pollen), and asexual produce which produces spores. Moss sperm is motile just like human sperm, and it swims along in the little film of water that clings to the plant till it finds an egg to fertilize. Next time you bed down on a nice mossy bank, be aware that there are zillions of sperm swimming along beneath you.

We have a shady wet spot in our yard where ferns and mosses grow. It's very cool.

Favorite household plant? I have to add the herbs. I love cooking picking leaves from the plants for a meal makes it special.

What do I send? Roses, prefereably Blue and white if the florist can get the blue ones. If not, then an arrangement of dark red and white roses will do. Just add aspirin and they last awhile.
