Ooh, there's that little link that says to click here to read the message. It's taunting you - you can almost hear it saying, "click me to find out if you were right, you'll never know otherwise because nobody ever quotes him."

Uh, dude...

Tell me, did all the other countries in the area agree on the British Mandate?

And have you ever seen an Arabic map?

The mandate was a LoN one, post WWI. The Middle East was carved up by France and Britain in 1916 by the Sykes-Picot agreement. Post WWI much of this was affirmed by the LoN. It was from the same carve-up that Churchill created Iraq.

Previously the area was Turkish controlled as part of the Ottoman Empire. Like much of the world the "states" were defined by borders drawn up by the Imperial nations Britain, France, Belguim, Netherlands, Portugal, and latterly, Germany, with complete disregard of tribal areas. Hence much of the instability in the former colonies.

Correct-a-mundo!

Well said.

... and one needs to pick a point on the time line of history here. If we don't Palestine, like all of the Western Hemisphere should be returned to the lizards.

If that was any more correct it would be Gospel.

Can I get an Halleleujahhhhh....

But this has all been said so many times , and is still ignored.

At some point people really need to recognise that the Palestinian label , cause and focus is pretty much an invention to accomodate contemporary politically correct fad ,
and act as a fob for Arab distraction from the fact they fucked the 'palestinians' far worse than the Israelis did , because the Arabs were happily fucking 'their own'.
Just as the Ottomans did for some 500 years previously.

I suspect that many , with a background similar to my own , will always have to admit to an admiration of the fact that whenever the massed , significantly superior, numbers of the Arab world launched into fullest aggression against Israel . they got their arses handed back to them, well used.

Anyone with experience of training in the Arab world ( even in the last 30 years) might have memories of issuing a rifle , 'a hundred rounds' , then wondering where 75% of the unit had fucked off to overnight.

I suppose I could say sorry if that offends. But really I am not that arsed.
If hamas didn't need the various nationalities of 'peaceniks' they wouldn't 'break bread or share salt or a fire ' with them in any way whatsoever. If they weren't a political convenience those same relief workers would be dismissed as apostates , infidels, kaffirs , and worse.

Hallelujah! Testify!

On November 29, 1947, the United Nations General Assembly voted 33-13 with 10 abstentions to terminate the British Mandate for Palestine and replace it with the UN partition plan dividing most of the area into two states -- one Jewish, one Arabic.

Not surprisingly, all of the Middle Eastern Arabic states opposed the resolution.

Also not surprisingly, none of those who love to condemn Israel and the United States for not subjecting themselves to the "majority rule" of United Nations General Assembly will likely have one iota of criticism for those Arab countries who launched the 1948 war against Israel in defiance of UN Resolution 181.

To many folks, UN resolutions are only legitimate when they censure Israel or the United States.

Are you trying to muddle up politics with that pesky logic thing?

Fixed your post.

When HB asked about "[reprint]", for shits and grins I googled each paragraph (the full-length article made an URL too long for Google to handle) . That is, the paragraphs after the photo. I couldn't find a source for the article so unless you're alleging that she c&ped individual words and phrases such as Transjordan, Partition and West Bank, then I suspect you've swung on and missed.

Let's go back in history to the times of ancient Istanbul, Turkey that was mostly Christian until the Muslims took it over in the Ottoman Empire days.

It's easy enough to put it into her own words but she's not some historian of BS Palestinian History....

Please.

Google isn't the end all be all of every site on the net you know.

Please what? Since when did you need a BS to know history?

Google isn't the end all be all of every site on the net you know.

I'm aware of that. That's why I used phrases such as "I couldn't find a source" instead of "there are no sources" and "I suspect" instead of "I know".

Well theres no convincing you Zionist Jew Lovers anyhow.

Power to the Palestinians is all I can say and Israel better keep their heads down and the air horns well oiled.

Nancy Pelosi better hide her "word" when you come 'round.

I am the bird of the worm...

A surviving abortion from the Holy State Church of Gaia.

Mz. Kagan and Obama would have me put to death...

Although Obama's on the outs with the church.

"I was in the Wright church!
"But it musta been the wrong pew..."

Apparently.

Black-and-white thinkers are such a gift to the world, aren't they?

They certainly make Fox News' job easier.

"Yer either WITH US or AGIN US!"

On Planet Wingnut, the color grey does not exist, that would be a violation of the First Rule.

I'm sorry, but it is the Democrats who have the most virulent strain of with us or against us.

One example is the reemergence of the anti-Semitism of the intellectual elite...

another would be...

I bitched about Bush for six years, and through all that time the Republicans on this board never trashed me the way the Democrats do now that "their guy" is "in charge."

They were angry when Bush was President, but they seem even more angry now that Obama is President.

Maybe it's just disappointment.
