What is one story that is a perfect example of your writing?

Hi all,

What is one work that you would give someone if they said, "what story represents your writing"?

This is a question I have been thinking a lot about recently. It is hard to chose just one of your babies, especially when they each speak to a different part of you.

Here is my pick:

In many ways that story is a perfect example of what I like to write about. It includes taboo and latex, but is ultimately about relationships.

What is your "perfect sample of your writing" and why?

(Accidentally posted this in the general thread earlier, but I'm not sure how to delete it)

The Walled Garden is probably the story that best reflects what I can do if I slow down and put the effort into crafting a good story.

It's E&V, but with what I think is an unusual twist: two women talking on the phone as they spy on a hot guy. But it's not about they guy, or the spying: it's about the women and their (non-lesbian) relationship.

EVE & LUCY chapter 1 is probably
most typical of me, as the majority of my stories are at least 2 of the following (first person present tense; set in Bristol; at least one character's first time with another woman) and this is all 3.

As a bonus, most of my main protagonists turn up during the series, though chapter 1 is fairly self-contained.

Probably this one. It features two very likable characters who have a rebound fling that goes the distance. It features an older plus-sized gal and a fellow in his late twenties who loves every inch of her.

Oh, of my more recent stuff I'd have to say My Best Summer Mistake is a good sample of my writing. It has all the hallmarks: nudity, odd setting and premise, distinct characters, a touch of drama and is the result of spending waaaay too much time researching.

I don't think any one of my stories is representative, they're all unique and designed to appeal in different ways. That's why some of my favourite comments to receive are ones from followers who say something like 'never normally would have read something like this but really enjoyed it'.

"Rainbow Party," my off-brand Mythbusters fanfic. Not because it's my favorite, or that I think it's especially good. It's because the ratio of how much research I did vs. how much of that research shows up in the writing is insanely high. I feel that this says something fundamental about the kind of person I am.

I probably have to nominate Wheelchair Bound? - it's got women with brains, working round adversity, and some kink in the background. A couple good minor characters (one stolen from life so I can't take all the credit). A few comments said they enjoyed it despite not being interested in lesbians or BDSM in the least.

Though I'm particularly fond of Turkish Delight - it's got snarky men, travelogue, filth. What more could you want?

On this site? ā€œThe Rendezvousā€ for fanfic, also my X-Men & God of War stories. For original stories, ā€œRuleskirterā€ and ā€œGirls Dorm Gatheringā€. Lonesome people hook up as friends with benefits and become happier with their lives. Iā€™m too depressed to write about it any longer these days, but I still hope for change one day- in the writing and my life.

It is an absolutely superb story.

For a long time my go to story for "EB style" was the first part of The Floating World.

These days, though, it's this one: Honey Always Tastes Better From the Pot

Why? CafƩ setting to start off with; the opening scene is one of my nuggets of truth with which to suspend disbelief; affirmative, intimate sex; two sexy women with character and spice; a man who enjoys their company and they enjoy his; what more could erotica want?

Probably Chemistry of Love. College, a shy guy, a demure (and very intelligent) woman who smolders underneath, a bully who gets what's coming to him, not a bald pussy in sight...there are other ones that check all my boxes, but this is the best of the bunch.

I want to change my answer. An actual perfect example of my writing is any of the fifty or so stories in my WIP folder.
I second this for my stories. My previous answer covered the stories I enjoyed writing most, though, if anyone is wondering.
