Some months ago I posted the first two installments of my story "All the Power" on Lit. Here are the links:

I have written some new chapters and would like to post them, but am unsure of the best home for them on Lit. A reader pointed out that the story is quite weird and may not be the best fit for the Sci Fi & Fantasy section, where I had posted the first two parts.

This reader had a point. The story IS really weird. Part of the reason why I wrote it is that I hadn't seen any erotica that scratches this particular itch in quite the way that I am going for, so I decided to take a stab at it myself. It contains elements of a variety of genres - harem fantasies, certain sorts of BDSM, something kind of like mind control (although there's no actual mind control going on), certain fetishes (particularly related to deepthroating and blowjobs) - but doesn't seem to totally fit in with any one of them.

It does take place in a world that is not our own, so in that sense it's fantasy, but all the characters are human and there's no magic or anything. There is some stuff that would be impossible in reality, but the in-universe explanations for these things do not involve fantastical elements and don't figure prominently in the story (at least as of now). But maybe that's still the best option? I don't know.

So: what is my story?

I read some of chapter 1. I think it's fine in sci-fi/fantasy, it could also be in BDSM. (I happen to think the cathegories here on lit are a bit useless, anyway.)

(It's quite well written, too. I would have read on, but the content unfortunately isn't really my thing.)

Hmm. I disagree. It's not well suited to Sci-Fi/Fantasy. You need relevant world-building and a plot to be received well in that category.

Nor would it be that well-received in BDSM, from what I understand. The most vocalized rules (safe, sane, and consensual) is not really a focus here, and the sex is pretty one-sided without much care for the submissives other than being pretty and being there for worship. No personalities. I'm reminded of the Gor stories (largely written only for young men full of hormones without much sexual experience or possibly even regular experience with women). Even the deep-throating is pretty boring (you state that he's using her that way--whoopie).

You could try Mind Control despite that not being the explicit purpose of the story. I think more of the "I wanna have all the power and make people do what I want because interacting is too hard" stories show up there. You could try Fetish if you got weird enough.

Thanks! I'd guess I'll either leave it in Sci-Fi/Fantasy or move it over to Mind Control.

I will say that in the newer parts I've tried to lay the groundwork for some plot development and world building, and I've tried to round out the some of the characters at least a little bit. The sex is still very one-sided, although in some of the scenes the subs are clearly enjoying themselves.

If I go further with it, I'll probably try to find ways to get more historical background and world-building in, and add some sex scenes between other characters (which would be less one-sided).
