Answer as honestly as you can, and if you'd like defend your answer.

I've asked other people this question and was not so surprised at the answers.

Oh this one will make me friends  :p

Well first of all to be bitchy, neither is tragic. Tragic implies a downfall based on the intrinsic flaws of the person.

I also don't think that you can real trade and compare suffering, however I would have to say rape is probably worse since the murder of men is condoned in many cases where the rape of women rarely is.

I don't know which is more tragic, but one is definitely more challenging to get past. It seems to me that the world, or at least my little corner, is populated with numerous rape victims who have built a bridge that allows them to move forward. And, that is to their credit. Death is just so, damn permanent.

I heart Sillyman.

I don't know about death or rape, but the most tragic thing on this site is Sinthesyst trying to get people to like him.

It's just...sad.

What's even more sad is that people do like me despite all your ditties and defenses of your turf.

You and Dixon both just HATE alpha males.

It's the latent homosexuality you both are in deep fear of.

It's okay. I understand. I'll give you time to mature.

I'm in it for the long haul.

Now that I live close to Tennessee, I understand your fear and concern that I might discover that Southern Boys such as yourself are the things that Deliverance was based upon...

Zam, dude!

Missed you!

Not in a PC sort of way (not that there's anything wrong with southerners being gay or anti-American like the Dixie Chicks!)...

How's it hangin'?

Up, I hope!

The choices were death of a man(no specifics).

or

rape of a woman.
My vote is the rape as more tragic.

I can't imagine a rape not being a bad thing. It's a crime and someone suffers. But death sometimes is an end to pain and suffering after a long illness.

You propose discussing death and sexual assault, and end your post with a frog face?

When you say death of a man, I read death of a human...

A rape of a human is less than the death of a human.

You can get on from rape.

Serious topics certainly. Was just referring to how unpopular one stance or another could make myself or another...it's a touchy one.

I'm really shocked people place the life of a man over the rape of a women. It boggles my mind.

I thought we were beyond gender differences...

Aren't women LIBERATED?

I still say the question is properly, what is more important, the death of a human or the rape of a human and I still say it is death.

DUH!

Many people would say that the death of a human is neccesary. It's hard to argue how the world benefits from a woman being raped.

Zam,

Would you chose rape or death...?

I would always choose life first. It's simply amazing little people value life.

It's as if somehow women have more 'social' value in this world than men. Yes, that's it isn't?
