Are the people looking for us to beg them to stay? Do they have the need to explain their actions?? Is their self esteem so low that they just can't go without an explanation??? What the fuck is it with those threads, anyways????

I left the BB for about a month. I made no general announcement because it wasn't necessary. I came back and I made no big deal about that, either.

Why do people have this need to explain their actions to people that don't even know them? There's some newbie now who is leaving and he/she got 25+ replies to his/her thread. What's with that, too?

As I ponder the imponderable, I add this to my list. The last imponderable that perplexed me is why I chose to eat 10 White Castle burgers.

Well, If KM or Dixon or anyone else who is regular enough of a poster, (and even you yet it was clear why you breaked) were to dissapear with out a bit of warning or explaination, many people would worry, so when some go on leave, they should inform people so as to not freak anyone out.

In the case of Bette(y??)Daviseyes, I have no clue. She had only 9 posts and how can someone expect people to notice you and be familiar enough to care about your leaving. If she hadn't said anything, only a few may have noticed, and they may have contacted her to say whatever, but I took her post as an attempt to make herself stand out, because she gave no reasons, or anything. I don't know about any other posts that were by any other lurkers or unknowns, but if Isolde's thread had been "I am leaving" instead of "I am not leaving" then it would matter to a lot of people why.

I don't think that there is anything wrong with people who have friends here to publically declare a departure to avoid a lot of impersonal Mass email, or PMing. It is hard for people, going through an emotional time, to cope with the idea of explaining, and reexplaining the same thing, when you can do it all in one shebang.

Just my HO.

They're a bunch of attention deprived moron's.

I can say that cause I did the exact same thing way back.

Morons.

Which is what I did. When I left I had no idea if I'd be back. I never said I would or wouldn't, but in case I was to return I didn't want anyone to worry about me. (I took a well-needed break) I didn't make a big deal out of it. I don't think I even started a thread. I just said, "Gotta go. Things are weird." and took a few months to chill.

But why someone with 9 posts needs to start a whole thread to announce she's leaving -- I have no idea.

Perhaps that is her way of seeing if anyone would respond to a thread started by her?
