Out of curiousity, and I think I'm probably neither too, how would you define a slut? I always thought it was just a girl who loved to fuck.

Is a slut a girl who likes sex? I thought that a girl who liked sex is a normal, healthy girl.

What is your definition of a slut?

Is the word "slut" an anachronism in 2002?

A slut is a derogatory slang term applied to woman who are sexually active or attractive in some way. A slut is a woman who has or appears to have a sexual lifestyle that is considered "unpure" in mainstream society.

:)

A slut to me is someone who fucks just to fuck.

No emotion,no real need to (as in isnt horny),its as if the act is good enough.

I partly agree. Fuck just to fuck, no emotion, no strings...just fuck to fuck. I don't agree there is no need. There is always a need. ;)

Being a slut is not a bad thing! :D

Per the Oxford English Dictionary

1 A woman of dirty, slovenly or untidy habits or appearance: a foul slattern.

2 A woman of a low or loose character; a bold or imprudent girl; a hussy; jade

3 A female dog, a bitch.

Take your pick:devil:

Slut...as shaq defines them...

Slut: noun. 1.A woman who has sex with an excessive amount of different men or women. 2.A woman who has displayed a pattern of having sex with people outside of a healthy, commited relationship 3.A woman who too easily commits herself to relationships that involve sex

There ya go...

I don't remember who said it first, but a slut is, "a woman who will sleep with anyone but me."

Slut is usually used in the deragatory sense. It means the woman is loose with her sexuality. Some use it to put down those that dress or act provocatively.

I've been way too uptight with my sexuality for the most part of my life. I am a slut in training. I've decided to use it in a positive way. I love my body, I love what I can do with it. I love my perverted little mind, how it can influence others.

I thought it was "A slut is a woman who will sleep with anyone. A bitch is someone who will sleep with anyone but me."

Could be. :) The point is, that "Slut" is a subjective term. What I consider a slut, you might consider your fun loving main squeeze.

I Think a Slut iz...

A Once Girl that I'd Fight her dad over...now thinks MTV iz cool

I think, if the majority of the female population were honest, we would all be considered "mental sluts". Some women are just brave enough to act upon the feelings and desires that surface in their lives. We all have our fantasies; too bad that we aren't brave enough to act upon them.

Who is "sluttier":

1) a woman who dresses in provocative clothing, flirts, and talks explicitly about sex, yet rarely or never has actual sex;

or

2) a woman who rarely discusses sex, dresses per the norm, yet has many casual sex partners/encounters?

Why?

Which of the above do you most often find yourself labeling a 'slut'?

Slut means to me someone whose sexual behavior reflects a tremendous lack of self respect and consequently engenders disrespect in others.

I think that today the term can be applied to either a man or a woman who meets that description. Sluttiness doesn't necessarily mean that a person is promiscuous, and everyone who is promiscuous is not automatically a slut.

Anyone agree?

Seriously though, I'd say 2.

And I don't buy the old argument that a guy who sleeps with many women is a stud but a woman who sleeps with a lot of guys is a slut.

A slut's a slut. Gender is irrelevent.

#1 will be called a slut but #2 actually is one....

I think it's all in how you carry yourself. It's like clothes. Some women can put on the shortest leather skirt and thigh high leather boots with 6 inch spikes and look powerful and sexy and somehow, not quite classy, but definitely not slutty. Others....same outfit, different attitude, different look.

So, I gues it's not how many men you sleep with, but how you wear them.

Mmm tough question.

I have to admit ive been called a slut...( Of all people by my mother) but i know im not.
I have to admit ive had a few partners since my divorce but i dont feel im one. But the way i look at it is, what I do in the privacy of my own home is my business.
I would call a slut someone that goes out looking for sex, in a bar or club or in the streets.
I dont go looking for sex, it just happens..... and ive enjoy the HELL out of it when i got it...lol :p

Like any label it's only significance is to inform about the position of the person who uses the term. If a person call another a slut they are effectively saying, "When faced with this person's behaviour/ dress/ voice/ words etc.....it triggers inside me a defensive mechanism, a recoil, a distancing........."
It is a judgement which protects the user from entering into a relationship with another.
That's all.

Today Juicylips replied to one of my posts in her thread and said
"No judgements here" - and I thought that that so characterises one of her powerful gifts: that of being able to relate to a huge range of Lit people. Completely relational - that's one of my thoughts about Juicylips.

So...can a woman be promiscuous and not be a 'slut'? Is slut an indictment of a woman's actions, or of how she presents herself?
