What if the Pope were gay/bisexual ?

They would probably condemn the pope if it got publicly out and force him to resign, but knowing the church I could see him meeting a untimely end before that got public. Its simply too big of scandal for the church to let get out.

id say so, they sweep those stories under the rug as best they can as well. Now if the pope came out to say he messed with little boys that would be bigger than being gay/bi

That depends on the circumstances. If the Pope came out of say the closet, the world would react one way but if he was say caught with an alter boy...the church would do damage control and state that he is in therapy with Tiger.

Hey, one of the most "respected" cardinals in America is, as my dear mother used to say, "the biggest queen around." The pope is just an elevated cardinal, so any one of those guys could be gay.

The pope, like everyone in a religious order, and following the tradition of ancient mystics and others, takes a vow of celibacy. Therefore, he could be as bi or gay as anyone...as long as he's not acting on it there's no problem. It's not a lifestyle I'd embrace or endorse, but it is what it is.

sorry for two posts, but I just thought of this...
Many Anglicans are joining the Catholic church now because their church now confirms gay bishops and cardinals. Note the difference--no vow of celibacy in the Anglican church, many priests are married. And many are *gasp* women!
