Alternate Thread Title: The Part of Providence the Tourists Never See

A tunnel, 300' down, 3 miles to the exit shaft and the only light comes from batteries that you carry in. Trust me when I say there is no place on earth that is darker than this.

This is a photo at the end of the line with the camera set to a 15 second exposure time running 800 film.

Here's the crew I went in with (I'm behind the camera):

It was an interesting day. But one of my boots leaked by mile one so I spent the day with cold wet feet. Yuck.

I am so glad you said that, Jennywhizzle. You saved me from making a really inappropriate joke about Britney Spears...

Hehe. :D

I shouldn't enjoy that nickname as much as I do. I must come up with one for you in return. :)

I'm a slave to my inner nicknamer. I'm just glad you like it.
Don't worry about me. "Weirdo" will do just fine. :D

For those who don't want to go that far underground: Sewers of Paris

I have toured the storm drains of Melbourne, Australia, some of the sewers of London and various other underground passages. I started by breaking my school's rules to explore the tunnels under my boarding school. Those tunnels are still there but after several changes of role the school has become a girls' school. The entrances to the tunnels were sealed in the 1960s. I wonder if they sealed ALL the entrances?
