You were handling a lot in that story though. I liked the allusion of walking the rooms as also a walk through their lives. One comment... I would have put the hallway at the end instead of the start. The juxtaposition of them on the floor as newlyweds and then cutting to him closing the door would have been a coup de grace.

The first of a five-part story The Healer has published tonight. It's my 50th piece to be published. I started this one in November of 2022. It's been one of these where I would get excited to write on it but that excitement wouldn't last long for some reason. It's also my longest piece at just under 72K words, which is why I chose to break it up to publish.

The premise is that a brother grants his sister's dying wish to experience sex, and she doesn't want any random guy doing it, because she wants love involved, and given the options of her older brother or her dad, she chooses the brother. Miraculously, she quickly finds she has more energy and begins to gain weight, and scans reveal that her cancer is shrinking. She knows in her heart that her brother's semen has healing properties. He will have other opportunities to try to prove that his sister is correct.

Just finished chapter 1, good stuff. The first 2/3 of that are gut wrenching. Although I kept thinking “what if when they csme out of her bedroom the first time, he heard his mother crying in her room. He looks in and his father is cradling her and has a heartbroken look on his face.” The idea that they MIGHT know but chose not to confront it because it was her dying wish, now that’s a mind-fuck. What do they do when she lives? “It was okay for him to fuck me when I’m dying but not when I’m living?”

I'm still working on my chain story entry. My focus has been shit this past month and short snips are about all I've been able to finish.

My first story in LW went up yesterday. I've heard all the horror stories about what to expect but I wanted to see for myself.

I started out getting 3.0*. Not sure if that was actual 3s or 1s and 5s. After 24 hours that has crawled up to 4.1 (1k votes). Which is fine but I don't know how anyone can maintain a red H on LW.

I'm on 16k views which is okay, not spectacular. My previous story (two weeks old) is on 40k and that was with an H. I don't see this one getting more than that. I was hoping to get more views as people seem to think you'll get poor stars but high views on LW. Might just be my story, though.

I also asked for comments and have 73 so far. My last story got 15. Most of the comments are supportive. Some are valid criticisms with specific examples that I will implement if I rewrite. And then some are a bit dismissive or aggressive, but not vicious or anything.

The only personal insult was calling me 'scatterbrained' which was deserved. I wrote "His hands slid over her hips and then he felt her enter him" when it should have been "...then she felt him enter her". Just had a brain fart there I guess.

Overall I think it wasn't so bad. Lots of readers on LW do have a strong idea of what they want to read and will tell you but just as many are open to something new. The only real issue for me is the difficulty of getting the red H means you don't attract as many readers as you could. Will see how things develop over the next few days.
