This accomplished writer was 7 epsidodes into an 8 chapter story when she suddenly disapeared from the site. Unlike the late great femmyfemmefemme, threre was no message on her author’s page. Her UID no longer seems to exist, so her identity seems to have been deleted.
My question is: was this her own doing, or some response to external demands? Her series was titled ”below deck” and so perhaps it came under some kind of takedown notice? Or was this just a cynical means of attracting feedback from users here prior to physical publishing?
Any information or speculation is welcome. Thanks.

It isn't unusual for writers here to take down stories on Lit once they get sold for publication elsewhere. I wouldn't call it "cynical" if that's what happened here. I've done the same thing.

Taking their whole account down seems a bit more extreme. But who knows, maybe they just decided there was nothing more for them to do here.

I'm trying to get my head around the dynamics of this site.
I've always suspected there is a desire of talented real/commercial writers to have an outlet for free expression of things their mainstream publishers would not normally allow.
So now in addition, I take it that when a highly rated series and author disappears, it might have been either of the two situations you describe.
Thank you for your perspective.
