No, you have to prove how the situation got worse because of these programs. If the worst you can proove is net zero then yeah that might be a good reason to cut the program but your point is proving it's harmful.
No, our poor have it better because we take care of them. Capitalism doesn't raise all boats unless it's forced to. That's just the way that it is. And these forced seeking to destroy capitalism are just in your head. They aren't real, they are some freaks that even the left kicks in the face when they get the chance.
The programs made it worse because they soak up private capital and put a brake on wealth creation and begin to reverse the tide, as you keep pointing out, it got worse for unions and the middle-class and it wasn't at the benefit of the poor, now was it? You even state that that is a constant. Eventually their lot regresses too.
That second paragraph is just wrong from beginning to end. Without Capitalism, there would be little wealth creation, the ruling oligarchy would have it made and the rest of us would be out in the fields fighting for our meals, getting our backs into our living...
Education would be an unaffordable luxury in the scramble to to find enough beetles and bark to fill your belly, witness the People's Paradise of North Korea, or Haiti...
