Of story is your favorite on Lit? More than one?

Inquiring minds (OK, just me) want to know.

The genre doesn't exist. It's called "Perverted Religious Hypocrites."

The stories I like are not porn vignettes, they're character driven with conflict and resolution, sort of like mainstream fiction, but with more sex - or no sex, if that's what the story requires.

Most of what I write has been Romance or First Time--though "Romance" has always been kind of my stand-in for "Lots of plot and character development". My best work has maybe four sex scenes in like 150,000 words, because all the rest is story, and I'm happy reading similar things. (It wouldn't have fit under "Romance" because it's too angsty.)

I agree completely. Also, lololol. Very witty.

Me too. I definitely have my preferences when it comes to specific fetishes, but overall I want a good story as opposed to smut-central.

Hm, I don't think my favourites can be put into a genre per se, though I mostly find them in the lesbian, exhibitionist and bdsm categories, with a grain of non-con thrown in. Whether it's a slow-going story with hardly any sex or a piece of plain smut that jumps right into the action doesn't really matter to me. What I do need are a halfway believable development of the story, motivated characters and a measure of inner conflict that carries the suspense arc until the story is finished.

Stories that spend more time on the psyche than on the physical mechanics of sex. Unfortunately the existing categories aren't much help in finding this.

Not sure if it is my favorite genre, but I think the story I enjoyed best on Lit Erotica was a story about co-ed roommates who hung out naked together. There was also a great one about two lesbians in an office setting.

I think the better erotica I've read is a little bit more plot driven too. Porn vignettes are nice once in awhile too, but I really only read them to improve my own scenes.

Call me a soulless stooge for commercial fiction, but I do enjoy it when you can notice a good three act structure.

I'm babbling now.

Personally, I don't know if there is a category label, but echo the sentiment that someone else had. I love a good conflict. Like most porn movies, without something more, a sex story gets super boring. Make me feel the conflict - anger, angst, inner conflict, rage, humiliation, fear, surrender, denial, shame - and I'm hooked.

*sigh* yes, yes, giggle all you want :p. I'll meanwhile delude myself into believing that that one was meant for the "what's your eight word story" thread...
