-A hot cup of coffee on a cold morning.
-A pretty sunset or sunrise
-Being able to see the stars
-Hugging my kiddo
-the smell of freshly mowed sweet grass
I think they feed my soul because they are simple. In a word where nothing seems to be easy and problems are complicated, it's nice to be able to reflect on the things that just are.

I must know Scaly -- did you do a cannonball into the pool?Scalywag said:Last night we had some of my son's friends over for his bitrhday....it wasn't really a party so to speak, just some close friends, and he wasn't expecting it. We had kids (supposedly all young adults) running around our yard, playing wiffleball, music playing outdoors, kids swimming and a campfire until well after midnight.
Man I love it when I can see my kids enjoying life with their friends!
How nice for everyone.Scalywag said:actually, once his friends started showing up (around 9....hell, i'm usually ready for bed around that time) I left the pool and went in the house (though i did attempt something that loosely resembled a 'jack-knife' when I first jumped in). really my only participation after that was getting pizza for them, and staying up to make sure everything was safe, everyone had a way to get home and the campfire was drowned. I did have to check the tiki torches every now and then...they moved around quite a bit. I was pleasantly surprised this morning to see that they had cleaned up almost everything.
Gotta love being young and dumb... our neighborhood was Irish Catholic and each day we filled four to five school buses! The parties were legendary but it was the ''what happens on X Street stays on X Stree''.Scalywag said:wow, you must have had some good parties! too bad I didn't know you back then, i would have fit right in.![]()
most of the big parties I had was when I shared a couple different houses with friends. one really got out of hand, and we called the cops on our own party.![]()
but my favorite one was the one we put grain alcohol in the punch. talk about some shit-faced people.![]()

i was watching the freddie mercury tribute concert ("a concert for life"). if you're a fan of queen you really have to see it... or even if you're not it's a great show.Scalywag said:now there's a blast from the past
i highly recommend it... just skip the finale where liza sings "we are the champions." an absolute disaster... not a song that should be sung in the "broadway stage" style. entirely too much vibrato.Scalywag said:"i'm in love with my car, got a feel for my automobile"
I think it's something i should see
