What ever happened to Leon Redbone????

If you don't know of him, that's okay. As a guitar player I was always amazed by him - great old time jazzy guitar player - voice too. Real eclectic to say the least but did some Bush beer comercials and other wierd stuff. Just heard him on the sound track of - The Santa Clause - w/Tim Allen. What the hell happened to him? Not sure but thought he was Canadian. If you know - let me know. Thanks.

A Great Double Bill

I had the opportunity to see Tom Waits and Leon Redbone at a place called The Cleveland Agora back in the mid 80s (any other similarly afflicted Clevelanders might remember the place). Leon was touring behind the strength of his big hit "Seduced" and Tom was, well . . ., Tom.

My fave Leon tune is still "Big Bad Bill (Is Sweet William Now)" and his cover of "Mr. Jellyroll Baker" is great.

was lucky enough to meet leon redbone in the early eighties...drank with him after his set at a club i worked at....damn i miss the old days....he is pretty much just commercials now i think?

It had a tremendous effect on me. I started wearing all white suits for awhile but had to stop after being pestered to autograph copies of The Incredible Candy-Colored, Tangerine-Flake, Streamlined Baby.*
