What Do You Value More?

View numbers. I chart my story views, get a pretty accurate overview of what's happening and in rare cases when it cross refers to emails what they're reading. For example, I have followers that may not read my stuff until well after publication but email me about aspects of the story or the story in general weeks, months later. I always reply. Others ask about story or character follow-ons or story ideas.
I've said on my profile that favoriting is not necessary and I don't do the vote thing, just read if you want.
On the very odd occasion a troll takes a stroll and emails, that's never a problem but they don't get to use my story as a billboard and lambast, publicly criticize somebody else's positive comment. To be fair trolls tend to feed around one particular genre.
If readers are serious commentators, they email. I update my profile regularly and follow my followers. If selling your product is that important take care of your loyal customers. Anyway - works for me.

My heart skips a beat every time I see a new comment appear on my dashboard. I can't tap through to read it fast enough. I've been struggling to write recently, but each new comment gives me a little boost of motivation. And I have to agree with MelissaBaby...
...nothing makes me happier than when a reader says I made them cry.

I'd like to say the scores don't matter to me, but I can't. I try to ignore scores, but always wonder what I did wrong if a story doesn't get to at least 4.5.

positive comments and / or PMs. Or very badly written, ungrammatical, non-sequitur negative ones. I'll take either.
I really don’t mind negative comments, so long as they don’t become ad hominem and have some basis.

You are a worthless slut who can’t write ❌

I thought the ending was too rushed ✔️
