i think it's koi.

koi is a selfish love, akin to desire. ai is a more transcendental concept of love.

the way it was explained to me is "koi is always wanting. ai is always giving."

I think--but of course I only know what I learned watching Sailor Moon videos--that it also means "cute." Which is what I meant, refering to the whole concept. Just me being goofy. ^_^'

I'm more of a fan of small images rather than characters/text. Just something about an image that can have more interpretation and meaning than limiting words.

What, you think you can only learn from books? You can learn more about the culture of WWII America from Bugs Bunny cartoons then from a host of textbooks.

sailor moon. the cat smiley.

if you start acting like my sister we can't be friends any more. i'm sorry, that's just the way it is.

Do as you wish .. get a tattoo which you enjoy and will not mind having it forever. :)

I don't think. Hurts. But, honesty. If your getting a tattoo, think of something let's onna mean something that is gonna mean something special to you. Because, you're gonna have it for life.

just make sure it's something you can explain to your grand kids. keep that in mind when you get it.

everybody seems to be doing it, so i'm not big up for it. i don't like doing what's "hip" to the masses, and i really don't like copycats. but if it means something personal to you, then go for it.

i think our appropriation of "their" culture is only fair. after all, "their" culture is just a giant amalgamation of basically everybody else's that they have come in contact with in the past plus a superstructure of superstitions and fairytales (on of the only things they can call theirs, really).

the only time i can see myself getting kanji tattoos are if i go further in my kendo training (a lot further).

Been done to death, taken out back, put next to the dead horse and been beaten with shovels 16 hours a day for two weeks, then place in a shoddily built coffin and completely covered in nails.

But that's just my opnion.

Edit: I know what you should get
