What do you like in a story?

some things I like are:

tension- dramatic and sexual
passion
drama
Bondage/BDSM themes
non-concent themes
incest or inter-racial or cheating themes ("forbidden passions" type stuff)
occult
magical realism
good story development
fantasy
mythology
hot, hot, hot (duh, right)
love triangles
kidnapping/being held against will type of things
really naughty stuff lol
a good story
well drawn characters, and character development, motives ect.
hot sex scenes that describe how the characters are feeling or develops the character, plot, or theme in some way rather than a list of different things that they did... the mechanics of it tend to bore me.
and more magic, supernatural stuff ect.
historical stuff can be very interesting
research... Colly was always good at that. YOu'd learn more from reading one of her dirty stories than from watching PBS
details that are relavant and help you feel like you're their (Colly was also really good at that)
strong images (I think of Mab when I think of this... that moth story still haunts me, lol)
dark themes, well handled

so what are some of the things you look for or enjoy most in a story? some I"m sure will be similer, but others will be very different. (ie, some pple like a lot of plot and others don't)

I like stories that evoke an emotional response. Try reading Suzanne by the Sea, but have some tissues ready. You'll be surprised what you end up using them for.

Most of my favorites were the ones that transported me to another place, for the duration of the story...

Emotion is what I like best in a story.

If I feel the character's emotions, their fear, joy, happiness and passion, I'll like the story.

Good characters, ones you can identify with.

Mystery and suspense.

Free will mostly.

Emotions and states of mind. I want to ba able to get into a character's head and figure out why they do what they do.

A good plotline!
