There are so many intelligent people here. I know this has probably been posed before, but now that I really have an idea who you all are, was very curious what you do to keep a roof over your head.

High demand for your profession. Good choice. I am a medical recruiter, forgot to mention that at the beginning of the thread.

Would you be interested in recruiting a geologist? I'm pretty good with a hammer:)

All I have to do is be fucking gorgeous. ;) I design webgraphics.

Cool. I do the pages.

And since I need to move to Florida by December at the latest, I've got a billion interviews for retail management jobs (Oh how I loathe retail management! - but hey I'm good at it and I need the money :D)

Wow Harpoon, that is a cool career choice.

I am a Horticulturist, however I currently am not employed. I have worked with plants for 5 years, and am now a student of Biology, minoring in marine biology, aside from trying to start an regional tropical freshwater aqutic plants buisiness, on the side. I am all over the place. School is getting tough. *whew*

I design and draw plans for homes, most of which I could not afford. Get to work with some neat people sometimes, flakes other times.

Some people come in with their plans drawn on some cheap plan program they picked up some where, others with two or three plans. They like this from this plan, this on this one, and this part of that one. Can you put those together?

Why am I so defensive about questions like this one?

I don't know, please don't be. DOn't answer if its uncomfortable. I was just curious what people do. Whatever you do dosn't change who you are. You are a very sweet person.

Being a college student and living in a big college town, I have the greatest job. I work in a local bar. Let me just say that I take full advantage of the "employee discount."

Grunt labor....

I work as an executive assistant to the president of a real estate investment advisory firm. It's less important than it sounds. There are four people in our office. I'm responsible for wiping the boss's ass and doing any number of menial tasks he might decide to assign that day. It sucks, but it pays well.

Hard bargain

I sold my soul to the Devil! Got a nice exchange rate too.

What do I do?????

I am an alternative band groupie who chops wood on stage and does street mime.:p

At the moment I'm an office worker but I'm sort of having a hard time with it, I just don't want to spend the next 30+ years slogging to work in an office in London, I really really need to think about a new career.

What a bunch of smarties!

I am a former pr guru turned fiction writer with my first release this month (actually, seven days ago to be exact). It's a romance/suspense. My next two books will be out 2003 and 2004. When I'm less shy I'll tell you titles.

If you don't tell us what the titles are we can't all rush out and buy them:)

Been working in the education field for over 20 years... also spent time as a truck driver and dispatcher on weekends for local paper for about 14 years (initially to pay for all my toys, later so willful could stay home and watch the kiddos-then go back to school to be a computer guru...:)

like to write for fun,but have never made a penny from it, though my far-right, conservative, evil (but sometimes libertarian) letters to the local papers get published a lot ......

What did you say you did UC?

What Do I Do?

I am a projects manager for a highway construction company.

Most of the time, I feel like a babysitter with his hands full of adults who act like children.

MrB
