Wheras this would seem a very straight forward question, I'm growing to realize that its not exactly black and white in everyone's mind.

To you, is cybersex the act of interactive messaging between two people involving a simulated sexual encounter?

Or is it two people talking about sexual situations involving other people graphically for the other's enjoyment?

Or is it the sharing of erotic pictures (vids, toons, stills, whatever) with the intent to stimulate?

Or is it something else entirely?

does it lead to stimulation, satisfaction, ORGASM......it's cybersex

I think it is: as quoted by Bob Peale
...cybersex the act of interactive messaging between two people involving a simulated sexual encounter?

I feel that if its just words/pix without masturbation, or touching for each other it is just description, fantasy, etc. The words alone can be arousing and stimulating, but I dont think its actually cybersex.

Once there is the actual deed of masturbation and acting out with/for each other is what I considered cybersex. I kinda think of it like:
...in real world if you look at an attractive sexy person and it causes you to get aroused and have erotic thoughts, & you go home to have incredible sex with your partner. Its not cheating. Its almost like using a toy--you take that outside stimulation to share and enhance sexual pleasure and experience with the person you are with and have feelings for. Or if you read an erotic story, get horny and have sex while thinking about the things you read about. Its just enhancement of your senses.

Maybe I'm wrong...maybe there isnt any 1 answer to this. Maybe it just depends on each persons perspective. ie. alot of people only consider intercourse sex. What do you think Bob Peale?

When I make a connection with someone, and finally do this deed, I will post back here with my opinion.;)

Hell, I know people that say the same thing about shopping!

What do I consider Cybersex?

Cybersex would be any form of mutual masturbation. Mental or physical.

It's just too bad that it isn't enough.........

honey, it is nuthin like shopping!!

And, actually, I don't think it always HAS to lead to orgasm...if you send PMs, instant messaging, emails with the INTENT to arouse or be aroused...I don't think you always have to orgasm to experience cybersex, mind you, that IS a bonus!;)

Talking to another in any way that gets you hot and bothered... in a good way, that I consider cyber.

Personally, I think any action taken with the intent to bring erotic pleasure to a person qualifies. Itt doesn't have to be mutual, although it helps when it is.

If someone gets aroused as a direct result of your activities, it qualifies :)

It's all of that just depends on who your with at the moment ;)

I agreed with your first description.

****************************************************

When I write on the Sexual Role Playing board, I hope to arrouse people but I don't consider that cyber sex. And if I send an erotic picture, cartoon, etc., while I may hope to arrouse the person I send it too, that is more like flirting.

To me, and this is only my opinion, it doesn't reach the level of cyber sex until there is an interaction between the two involved, back and forth as it is happening. Otherwise, its just wanking material.

Question??? Is voice chat cyber sex or phone sex?

DAMNNNNNNN Bob where do these people shop!!!!?????:p :p :p :p

To Cybersex, or Not To Cybersex?

I agree with willywanker!

In my opinion, it isn't cybersex, unless its the interaction of the parties mutually at the same time. A mutual gratification with knowledge of the stimuation at the same moment.

My arousal in cyberland is knowing that what I am typing is pleasuring, and pleasing my partner, with the emotions that I am putting into those words that are going across the screen. I need that interaction, to know what is stimulating to them.

Its one thing for us to sit and write, and Erotic Story, then put it on this site, and know that our story is leading someone into self gratification. We are not aware of the exact moment of that pleasured experience, so we are not receiving the same arousal.

To "chat" with someone in real time, and both of you share in the gratification. Now that to me would be cybersex.

Anything other than that, as willywanker would be "wanking material."

Steps off her soapbox, and bows out the picture!:p

Oh and Bob??

Where is this shop?

Enchanttress: Gets out her notepad, and map, waiting anxiously for Bob's reply!

I think cybersex is a term that can be used broadly. It can be any of the above, it all depends on the encounter. Short answer...I'll have to think on it more and come back and edit my post later.

cybersex to me... is getting (or trying) someone off with words over the computer.

But Myst, don't you think they both have to be reading and typing at the same time for it to be cyber sex or do you think anything you type and send via the computer counts?

It depends on what the definition of is...is

I am ROFLMAO...

if its anything like slick willy's you be getting some!

Hmmm is this a trick question? :D

Actually, in rudimentary terms, cybersex would be when one or the other party in a direct on line encounter "gets off."

So, if I type someone to arousal and then phone them and talk them through climax, would the typing be considered "cyber foreplay?"

cybersex has to be typewritten, interactive, (between two or more human beings ) and in real time, where at least one of the people is at least trying to get off. and that's what it is.

Who cares what the definition of cybersex is as long as everyone concerned is enjoying it. If 2 people are simulating sex and getting off on it, what about the lurker who is being aroused by reading the posts. If some one writes an erotic story and becomes aroused whilst writing it, then no one else reads it could this be cyberwanking?
