.....straight, but are attracted to hermaphrodites and transsexuals? Does that count? I really wonder. Saw this lady in a bar the other day, and she turned out to be a transsexual. Found her rather attractive. The only reason that I knew was that she was evidently a regular patron and the bartender told me. Does this make me bisexual? I don't think so, but what would you say?

You call it being human. At least that's how I see it. You found someone attractive, plain and simple.

But then I guess it isn't quite that cut and dried. I reckon you found her attractive and believed she was a genetic female. And I would presume you still found her, at least on the surface, attractive after you knew the whole story. So the real question is, did you still want her after you knew the truth?

And even if you did, I don't know what that makes you or what you call it. I'm not big on labels. It makes you who and what you are. And as long as you're good with that, then nothing else really matters. :)

Makes sense. C'est la vie and all. However, for a man who has identified as heterosexual all of his life, it is an adjustment. Not that I've ever been homophobic, anyway. I've tended to view two gay men as rivals out of the way. :D

If you're a guy, and like the masculine aspect of men (the muscles, the hair, the deep voices, the strength) then you're gay.

If you like the femine aspects of women (the softness, the smoothness, the bounce of tits and ass) you're straight.

Trannies are women, with softness, smoothness, and bouncyness. I could be wrong, but I doubt if most gay guys like trannies, as they want the masculine aspects of other men.

If you're attracted to trannies, then you're mostly straight, just super-freaky and want a little something extra. Good times.

neon_noodle, you took the words right out of my mouth!

I'd say it makes you an open-minded straight person. A lot of guys would have been disgusted - that's why transwomen get killed so often. Gwen Arajuo is a good example; when some guys she was partying with found out she was biologically male, they raped and murdered her. "Trans panic" is becoming a popular defense in these cases - "oh, I saw a penis and I lost my mind, it's not my fault."

So if you didn't have that reaction, then you are more of a man than those guys, and you're still straight. :)

Merci beaucoup! Thank you very much for clearing that up. I was just a bit confused about the whole issue and what exactly it said about me. :D :rose:

And they really get killed? Ouch. A bit harsh for simply having a phallus, especially considering that the killers committed the same "offense".

That was exactly the first words in my head when I read the initial statement. And being human, I find, is far far from simple...lol. It is complex and enigmatic and spiraling and full of colors and lucidity and madness and sadness and gladness and humor and terror...Need I go on?

It also wears one out...so have fun while you are on the rolly coaster treadmill!!!

Eh...hee hee...something tells me no one has to tell Yev that! :catroar: :cathappy: :D :nana:

trans panic is a numbskull excuse for being transphobic all the way. And I can´t seem to remember, if the killers were convicted, or they were set free.

It just sickens me, quite a few things like that. Thank goodness, I still live in a some what democracy. But I am not calling every part of the government we have where I live, for democratic. Since that would be, a blatant lie all the way.

Sorry, there are times, where if I had the power, then I would change quite a few things to the better of the people around the world.

It varies from case to case, of course. Gay panic and trans panic have been around for a long time, though gay panic is better known - that was the plea in the Matthew Shepard trial. In the case of Gwen Araujo, they did end up in jail, but they'll be out in a few years, which is shocking considering how brutal the murder was. The sentence in the Joel Robles case was similarly light - only four years. Tyra Hunter was in a car accident in 1995, but when the paramedics realized she was biologically male, they stopped treatment and she ended up dying. They never went to jail. An example of trans panic in the other direction is Brandon Teena, who was raped and murdered by his "friends" after they found out he was biologically female.

These are just the big names. Transgender people are killed on a regular basis, and often their killers are never found. Venus Xtravaganza, Nizah Morris, Nikki Nicholas...nobody knows who killed them. http://www.amanita.net/images/smilies/icon_rip.gif

Wait a second, they didn't go to jail for stopping treatment? Did they lose their EMT/Paramedic certification?

They SHOULD have because that is no excuse. It goes against all the oaths they take. They have to render treatment.

WTF ? and USA calls themself (the government) a democracy ?

Thank God I live in Denmark, sorry for my outrage. Here they would probably gotten a 16 (+ -) years prison sentence, if they weren´t psychologically checked, and failed the "sane test" then they would either have gotten a sentence of "unknown time" because of their extreme action. Or if they were "lucky" then they would get a "treatment sentence". Sorry I am schocked. Using such an excuse "I thought she was female, but she had a penis and then I panicked" What The Fuck ???

You killed a person or murdered a person. And then you have such a lame ass excuse (not you honey moderator), but figurely speaking.
What is next, a man is killed and then the person who killed him says this "sorry I didn´t know the man was gay/bi (take your pick) and then I panicked". And killing him in panic ?
And I agree with NJ,

(again a whatif scenario) if any paramedic didn´t help a TS friend of mine, because she was biologically male, then I would definately do some serious bad shit to them. Not violently, but otherwise stuff.

Sorry I am shocked in every way possible.

It's certainly an outrage. I've seen my share of murder in my lifetime, not to mention other crimes. I've never encountered a transsexual (to my knowledge, at any rate), but I am sure that I wouldn't behave like that. There's no excuse for it.

Back on topic, however, I understand, from what friends have told me and such, that transsexual dames would probably deem it especially flattering that he didn't know until he was told. Given that I am told that their basic reason for such transformation is that they deem themselves to be women already, regardless of biology or anatomy. That is probably even flattering than the fact that he found her sexually attractive, since indicated that her hormones had worked.

I'm also given to understand, from what I've been told and what I've read, that being a transsexual woman has nothing to do with homosexuality or heterosexuality, either. Nor bisexuality, for that matter. One can be a transsexual and find either men or women attractive, or both, right?

Another thing that I have been told is that most of the transsexual women are not really interested in being the penetrator per se. Well, that makes sense with the other idea, that of being females at heart. Which means, presumably, that a bloke who had sex (either as a fling or in a long-term context) with a transsexual dame would be the penetrating party, regardless of whether it was before or after the final surgery, right?

Which raises a curious question for transsexual women who have been with chromosomal women: have you ever been in a situation where you have dated a woman and she wanted you to postpone the final surgery for selfish reasons, such as not wanting to have to use a strap-on dildo, since you have the flesh-and-blood thing? Perhaps this would be more of an issue with a bisexual woman than with a lesbian. I'm just curious as to if that ever happened, and if so, how did you react to it? To me, it would seem a rather selfish request, as I said. Did you take offence to such a thing?

Okay, one more thing, related to the trans-panic issue. The Teena Brandon case- was she a female-to-male transsexual who hadn't yet had the operation, or simply a butch lesbian?

There's actually a bit of debate about that. Some people claim that he was a butch lesbian who pretended to be male so that he would be accepted by the homophobic local society - he wanted to be with women, and as a female he couldn't do that, so he pretended to be male.

His own statements, though, indicated that he was transgender - he wanted to BE male, he wasn't just pretending for society's sake. He wasn't on hormones, but he had said he wanted to have reassignment surgery. It's not surprising that a working-class transman wouldn't have been on hormones - they might have been hard to find, too expensive, etc.

Dear God, that's a horrid business, what people would say about someone behind their back, especially after they have been murdered. Terrible. I found the whole matter quite disturbing. They killed him because he wasn't really a guy in a physical sense. Damn. Just awful.   Just because butch lesbians or female-to-male transsexuals aren't one's cup of tea doesn't excuse murder. I can't imagine how badly his family must have suffered.

Thank you for clarifying some of this, people. :rose: I presume that you normally are leery of heteros coming in, but I'm glad that you don't chase us off. ;)

Very interesting thread!

So, my question would be about the same except that I'd much prefer a transsexual than a biological female. I love the looks and feel of a female, but I'd be more than happy that "she" had a penis!

Often times when I see a good looking woman on TV I think to myself, 'Gee, if she only had a penis.'

I'm NOT attracted to the male body or male looks, but I just happen to love penis more than pussy. A she-male lover would be my dream-girl.

The problem is that most of these "girls" want anal sex and I DO NOT want anything to do with that. My greatest desire is to give oral satisfaction to my partner to completion with no reciprocation needed.

I have always been very oral since I first started having sex with a male my own age in my younger days. When I started dating my first girlfriend I was very oral with her, too, and loved every minute of it.

At this point in my life the penis has become my center of interest especially if that penis is on a "girl."

So, what does that make me????

;)

I'd say it makes you a pervert, which in my book is a wonderful thing to be. :D

Seriously, I'd say it makes you queer. That's the only word we have for someone who is attracted to trans people. I wouldn't say you're bisexual, pansexual, or omnisexual, because you're not interested in men. We just don't really have a word for what you like, except queer.

sorry i've taken so long to see this topic.

yeah i would say it doesn't make you anything labels are bullshit and change all the time anyway.

Well being undecided how far i am going to go after hormone treatment i would leave it up to a decision to be made by both me and my significant other unless i decide that i just can't go on without the final reassignment surgery. I mean its a tough decision to make on your own and if your in a relationship with someone you care about their opinion should matter full heartedly unless you feel for sure that you can't live without the operation.

I do appreciate your reply and I'm not one bit offended by the word "pervert."
Neither am I offended by the word "queer."

Even though the looks of a man don't excite me, I have been with a few men sexually and certainly enjoyed it! Mostly, since my divorce, I've dated lots of women, but that craving for penis was always there. I did have a long-time male friend that I "serviced" for most of my life even before I was married.

To confess even more to you and the group, what I really crave is the taste and feel of semen in my mouth. That has been my desire since even before I got married to my first wife.

If I am queer, then I'm not the typical queer as most people think of them, huh?

The beautiful thing about the word queer is that it applies to a huge range of options. :)

*giggles* Always knew I was a bit queer...most people think I'm strange anyway.

Bad play on words, I know.
