What do you call a body waxing service provider?

I'm working a body waxing cosmetologist into a story, and since I have no personal experience with this kind of service, I have no idea how to refer to the service provider. "Cosmetologist" seems too broad in the context of a waxing salon where that is the only service. I've run across "esthetician" in a few searches and on a business card my wife happened to have. Then there's one local salon with "waxologists". Both seem clunky, but wadda I know, huh?

What say ye?

I think I'd go with esthetician. This is the subdivision of cosmetology that deals with the skin. Many (if not most) states in the US (I have no idea what it's like elsewhere) require obtaining a license, and the license is for being an esthetician. So I think that's the name you'd go for.

When it comes to things like nail and wax places most of the people working there will be called Technicians and Nail-Techs or in your case Wax-Tech.

Yeah, that was my original thought, too. In the case I'm writing it's a sole practitioner, a buff hetero male with a... uh... "side hustle". 😆

Technician sounds appropriately masculine.

You could have him tell someone he's a wax technician and have hilarious misunderstandings ensue because they assume he waxes cars...

The last time I was waxed, I called her some really nasty names right after she yanked me smooth.
