What did you want to be when you were young?

I wanted to be an astronaut and fly the shuttle. I was serious about it too. Even joined the Civil Air Patrol as a youth. Only thing that stopped me was my need for glasses which ironically hasn't ended.

Someday I will achieve the goal of becoming a pilot.

What did you want to be? Did you achieve it or attempt it? Or did it simply fade away as a pipe dream?

It all depends on which stage of my youth...

I wanted to be a police officer... Then I wanted to be a firefighter... Then I wanted to be an astronaut... Then I wanted to be the next Charles Schultz and do a comic strip... Then I wanted to work in special effects... Then I wanted to be a rock star... Then I wanted to be the next Stephen King and write horror novels...

I watched Apollo 13 and 14 go up. It was way COOL!!

I did at one time have a few dreams of becoming the next violin prodigy ... unfortunately, after 2 years of lessons, it was fairly apparent I would never even learn to play a few simple notes in harmony.

After that, I only ever wanted to write ... so I became a writer.

I wanted to be a ballet dancer 1st, then a truck driver-after driving cross country with my family one time, then in high school I wanted to be a physical therapist. It just didn't happen. But I am happy with the route I did end up taking.

industrial. I want to find a place doing something with human factors and manufacturing, but the other stuff in it is interesting still.

Yes I am. but seriously. It is scary to think of a 5-6-7-8 yr old wanting to be a stripper! That's how old I was. It wasn't til I was 13 that I edcided to be a paramedic, and then had to give that up due to health reasons and then focused hardcore on being an architect at age 16 right before graduation.

Heh, I still wanna be a stripper.
