Whiskey and coke.

I'm on dessert now.

I dropped the coke.

Damn....you sound like an old bf of mine.....and he lives in Kansas too.....hehe

I had the traditional Ham...with mac & crab...potatoes, and of course CHOCALATE!

I've had my little one all day...

She wanted spaghetti, grapes, chocolate milk, oranges, PB and crackers, chicken and stars soup, to tide her bike, pick flowers, her nose, to test my patience...

Now it's DADDY TIME!

I want some Hammer pants!

The usual; ham, potato salad, apple sauce, brussel sprouts (1),baked beans w/bacon, deviled eggs, raison pineapple sauce (for the ham), and yams with extra marshmallows.

And I actually helped a little, peeling eggs, until my aunt retired me. It seems I have absolutely no talent as an egg artiste.

Well, after telling everyone here at the house that we were having leftover pizza and beer from last night, I pulled a ham out that I picked up yesterday, just the basics tho, cottage cheese, stuffed celery, deviled eggs, mashed potatoes..etc, nothing spectacular since I really didn't feel like cooking

We didn't do the traditional ham dinner because we couldn't find one we liked. Not to mention Storm says ham shrinks dramatically during cooking time (and it has nothing to do with him sampling). So we had a nice roast instead with scalloped potatoes and veggies.

I knew it

I said that?

Don't worry, I won't post after you again......

Actually, my parents made a 17 pound ham - freaking huge......

Ah you're making me laugh anyway :) My Storm is over on the couch. He would have loved a 17 pound ham ;)

Thanks Ish

If I may call you that...

And on a different note...

I never knew ham was the traditional Easter dish. I mean, it ain't kosher...

I thought it was Hershey's Solid Chocolate Bunny.

What a good husband you are. Did she like him?

Not really, she thought he could have used more salt. Damn picky cannibals.

Oh jeez

The firewater thing just sunk in...

Yeah, we're all suckers for that...

Leslie Visser, but that's another thread...

I like em in a tomato sauce with a little onion myself. Leg meat, especially.

Hmm, I always figured you for more of an ass woman.

i had two oranges and a baked potato for dinner... the dining hall was particularly bad tonight.

My sister is all pissed at me currently so I stayed home and goofed off after church today.

My neighbors are Persian and have a BBQ EVERY weekend. Well, the guys have finally perfected it. They sent me a plate via my kid (Who is camping for the 3rd night in a row with their kid in their back yard). I puleld out the last Corona (worst beer ever!) out of the fridge and settled down to roasted jalapenos, squash, okra, a tomato, a chicken thigh, one piece of sausage, a chunk of steak, two tortillas, and some other green veggie that I can't identify.

Yeeeeahhhhhhhh. This is the good life.

I will go to bed feeling very, very satisfied tonight.

Oh, and BTW SINthysist, I think that the whole Easter celebration from the Pagan symbols to the Christian perspective would fall into the category of not being "Kosher". Remember, Christians have zero food restrictions outside of blood. And that depends on one's interpretation.

I went to an eclectic potlatch. We celebrated spring with a ceremony of the Yakima Indians to recognize the salmon and the struggle that they have to return to the headwaters from whence they came to give to man replenishment. We recognized the barriers, that as man, we have made for them and their continued struggle.

People brought food that identified the eclectic cultures from our own diverse backgrounds.

My son and I made strings of origami Salmon fry. We divided up into obstacles to survival, fish and water.

We ate turkey, salmon, spring vegetable of every type prepared in many fashions, pasta, homemade breads, and on and on. We thanked our earth for the bounty which it provides.

It was a wonderful meal.

It's SIN to you,

and they sound very Chinese...

I just wonder, if it's traditional, I mean, did they drop the pork thing all at once? Get my drift...

(they were still Jews, for a long while, weren't they?).

Not all of the early Christians were Jews. From what I understand (and that understanding is limited), more were not of Jewish origin than were. An easy example is/was Paul. Your average Roman citizen. I'm pretty sure that bacon was a regular part of his diet.
The Easter traditions are pagan and based on fertility customs from centuries past. Earlier Christians in various cultures incorporated their prior customs into the common pagan rituals. The eggs have nothing to do with Christianity. But they are a wonderful way to celebrate the season that our (Christians) celebration of freedom occurs in. (I am pretty sure the bunny and the Peeps and the ritual of getting a new dress/suit is not based on the Christian religion also. Of course, I could be wrong. ;) )

This is one holiday that just escaped me. Had to work this morning so it didn't feel like a Sunday to me right off the bat. And I love my sundays. I haven't even bothered making a real supper. Just snacking on cheese and crackers. Oh well.

fresh fruit cup

turkey soup

turkey
broccoli/carrots
asparagus
stuffing
gravy
mashed yams
homemade applesauce

cannolis
Italian bday cake (we celebrated my great-uncle's
bday, which is 3/31, and my dad's bday, which is 4/5)
