is your American Cheese? I heard its different colors in different parts of the country..

For those in other countries, do you have American Cheese?

We have white, yellow and orange.

Having all these colors of the same type of cheese truly is a blessing that I thank God for daily.

:p

OH geez. We just have yellow. Being so close to cheese country we have lots of different cheeses, only room for one color of American hehe :D

I went down to the fridge to look

and it was green, blue, and fuzzy.

The only thing I ever use American cheese for is grilled cheese sandwiches, so I don't usually have it on hand. I tend to go with the orange stuff tho.

:D

That 'orange' color is merely dye. At one point the Wisconsin dairy farmers wanted to distinguish their cheese so they chose to dye it orange. It has since been usurped and does not necessarily represent a product of Wisconsin.

Why do they slice American Cheese

And then press it together like plywood?

You can get white, yellow and orange here. I only buy the white kind. The other colors are just dye and why would you want to eat that? Besides that I'm convinced it makes it taste funny.

we have white and yellow,
however, we do not buy our cheese pre-sliced, we go to the deli and get it sliced there, Land 'o Lakes white american... mmmm... it tastes SO much better than the pre-sliced kind
