What Book Are You?

I just took the quiz and found something very interesting:
I am "The Giver" by Louis Lowry
Guess I'll have to get it and read it to see if it's true.

Ms_Toy.. this is a must! Excellent book! It's a quick read. It will probably be in the young adult section.

Apparently, I am the Dictionary. *snort*

You're one of those know-it-all types, with an amazing amount of knowledge at your command. People really enjoy spending time with you in very short spurts, but hanging out with you for a long time tends to bore them. When folks really need an authority to refer to, however, you're the one they seek. You're an exceptional speller and very well organized.

I had to laugh at this description, which is, for the most part, true. Sometimes I even bore myself. Fortunately, *chuckling*, I'm not very sociable, and don't inflict myself on too many people.

At least I have spelling to fall back on :p

my fathers book

After carefully thinking about this subject I have finnally decided on the book that best describes me at this time. The title is What I learned in the Air Force of the USA. My Father wrote it. It is hardcover dark blue with an airplane in gold etching. The copywrite is 1968. When you open the book to the title page it gives the title his name and the cpoywrite. then every page after that is blank not one word on any of the 350 pages not even the words the end at the end. I feel this best describes me at the moment. I however hope to put many words in my book What I did after My Divorce.

Maybe my current read: "I'm a stranger here myself" by Alden Nowlan

Never heard of that one!

Man, I'm getting some interesting book ideas from this thread for my amazon wish list (not from the quiz though  Just to begin, I've read all of those). And learning something about people too--at least when I recognize the book, lol.

Nowlan is a Canadian who writes pomees. Now I am curious about this wish list of yours.

Pommes?!?! Oh NO! Only one person in this household likes those things, and I certainly do not appreciate her taste. :/

I have everything on that wish listexcept the kitchen sink. I started to lose my handwritten lists, so now Amazon is my secretary. You can certainly look it up if you want to ...as long as you remember how to spell my real name. ;)

PS: Your avatar rocks!!! It's also what inspired me to call you a "pervert" in the other thread. Well, that, and certain other matters. ;)

I thought you started the Library here.

So perhaps the quiz is more accurate than we realise

LOL. Indeed. Although, to be accurate, the wonderful NemoAlia actually created the Library. I took over from her, and built the first linked Table of Contents, as well as a couple of years worth of additions--Library V2.0 if you will *snicker*. S'lara took it from me. Credit where credit is due.

You're The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy !
by Douglas Adams
Considered by many to be one of the funniest people around, you are quite an entertainer. You've also traveled to the far reaches of what you deem possible, often confused and unsure of yourself. Life continues to jostle you around like a marble, but it's shown you so much of the world that you don't care. Wacky adventures continue to lie ahead. Your favorite number is 42.

I would love to meet you :)

Never ask your friends what book you are; you'll get bizarre answers like "Reviving Ophelia" and "Girljock". Both non-fiction, btw. Here's what the quiz pegged me as:

You're Cat's Cradle!
by Kurt Vonnegut
You believe quite firmly that free will deserted you long ago and far away. As a result, it's hard to take responsibility for anything. Even though you show great potential as a leader of a small 3rd world country, the choices are all made ahead of time. You're rather fond of games involving string. Your fear of nuclear weaponry is trumped only by your fear of ice.

What I could do with a third world country of my own!

This is the result , fair enough . I read every book of H. Hesse when very young and it was a fascinating reading .

You're Siddhartha!
by Hermann Hesse

You simply don't know what to believe, but you're willing to try anything once. Western values, Eastern values, hedonism and minimalism, you've spent some time in every camp. But you still don't have any idea what camp you belong in. This makes you an individualist of the highest order, but also really lonely. It's time to chill out under a tree. And realize that at least you believe in ferries.
***

If I should choose a book to represent myself just now I'd have hard time cause there are so much I do love ..... so I 'll stick on the one I 'd have chosen if I 'd have been asked about twenty years ago .... *

JD Salinger - The Catcher in the Rye

*hope I've not messed up too much with eglish verb tenses :D :rose:

You're The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe!
by C.S. Lewis

haha... sadly... I think not.. But I could be wrong.

I've been thinking about this for awhile now... And I actually can't think of book. I would suppose in a way that it would be "The Phantom of the Opera" by Gaston Leroux because all my life and even now I feel like I have to hide. I have to stay in the background, never let people see who I am. If they see me they wont understand me, or they will make assumptions about who I am and what I'm about without knowing the true me. It's kind of hard to really pick a book since at the moment there are not many books at FtM Transgendered people.

If there was one book you could have somebody read that would help them to understand you better than any other book what would it be?

I'm toying with The Encyclopedia *****ianca... no seriously I haven't a clue. Just wondering what other's books are.

Opus Sadicum by the Marquis. Or Venus in Furs. Venus in Furs to see why I enjoy being a masochist and Opus Sadicum to see the other side of the coin.

The quiz says I am "Animal Farm" -- hmmmm...Master would laugh at that.

The Moon is a Harsh Mistress and I Will Fear No Evil. by Robert A. Heinlein.

Hey I'm a storyteller, former librarian and always a bibliophile, I can't pick just one. There are so many books that I love that hold part of my soul in them and describe bits and pieces of me in all my strange little guises. No one book will truly do the job though.

Also loved the other Heinlein books mentioned particularly The Door Into Summer and Stranger in a Strange Land. I chose the above two because in Moon, I was drawn to group marriages and due to scarcity in the moon prison population, women having the power. In Fear No Evil, I loved the idea of experiencing life and especially sex, as both a man and a woman.

Lots of other great books on this thread too! I will have to pick up some of them! If I don't have a least ten books beside waiting for my attention, I can't sleep. I need my books!
