I’m halfway through If I Was Your Girl by Meredith Russo it’s sort of breaking my heart..

Might not have started it if I knew what it was about. That subject matter can get really dark. I really enjoyed it though.

I felt the same. About that one and about A Little Life.
But I also really loved both.
I tend to go into a lot of books blind which has its pros and cons

I DNF this one at halfway through. Has great reviews but just wasn’t my style.

Moved on to Beartown by Fredrik Backman and now I’m on the sequel, Us Against You.

I love a book/movie/song that completely tears me apart. And that did it for sure.

Totally. If you like misery, it’s one to put on the list, but it’s long and heartbreaking.
I usually need a palate cleanser after a tough read, too.
