What are your favorite TV shows, and what channels are they on?

I'm watching the 2nd episode of the latest season of "Deadliest Catch" on the Discovery Channel tonight. :cathappy:

I don't really watch that much TV anymore, mostly because I don't own a TV. But I do get to catch some of my favorite shows online: The Simpsons and a couple other shows (King of the Hill and House, both only on occasion) on Fox online. I used to also watch Greek on the ABC Family website, but I haven't really been keeping up with that.

I also borrow the DVDs for Futurama from one of my friends on occasion and that's always a hit. I'm also reviewing the first season of Xena:Warrior Princess right now and it takes me back.

quite a few

I love adult swim on cartoon network, especially The Boondocks. I've been following Aaron McGruders comic strip since it started and loved that he was able to turn it into a cartoon. I got turned on to "Monk" by a friend on NBC and I cant get enough of Nip Tuck on USA.

The only thing that I watch is...the Bold and the Beautiful. No, I'm not kidding. I have to record it because it's on when I'm at work....then I can watch it on the weekends.
Other than that...nothing. At all. My (huge plasma) TV doesn't get turned on during the week.

We're watching less TV than we used to, mainly because the shows we used to watch have been affected by the US writer's strike. Consequently Aussie TV (free to air, we don't have pay TV) is full of reality and crappy game shows that hold no interest for us in the "older" demographic.

Saying this, what we do watch: The CSIs and Law and Orders, NCIS, Without a Trace, Underbelly, Sensing Murder, Boston Legal, Robin Hood, Medium, Family Guy, American Dad, South Park, Drawn Together, The Bill, Sea Patrol, the documentaries at 10pm Friday on SBS which usually have a sexual theme. A new series Mistresses starting next week looks promising.

I watch Grey's Anatomy (guilty pleasure), I tape it and watch when Sir isn't home because He doesn't like medical shows). Waiting for new eps of House soon. I enjoyed Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles too.

Sir likes Cheaters (train wreck TV at its best!) and the First 48, in fact anything with real crime. The Wire is also a favourite.

I don't watch all that much TV, but The Simpsons and CSI (if I have time, all three) is my time. I do try to watch Criminal Minds, and I have a little crush on House .

That being said, I'm often on my laptop while watching TV, working or catching up on emails, so I rarely sit down to watch a show. But if I want to indulge, then I pop in a Star Trek or Muppets DVD, and I'm in heaven...

Ooooh, "Deadliest Catch." Captain Sig. 'Nuff said.

I try not to miss any of the "Deadliest Catch," "American Idol," "Little People, Big World" episodes. I'll watch anything on Discovery Channel, TLC, History Channel.

On network television, it's "House."

If that's the same "Cheaters" we have here (where they go undercover and then confront the cheater with evidence), it's a show that has a seediness factor too high for me to watch. Sorry, Gil! :rose:

I do like The First 48, Crime 360 and Without a Trace, though.

I've heard really good things about The Wire, but we don't get HBO or any of those premium channels. Hopefully they'll air it on one of the channels we do get when the series ends.

Oh yeah, when we find ourselves at home on Friday or Saturday nights engrossed in a Discovery or History channel show, we always look at each other and laugh at what nerds we are. :D

Keith Colburn (captain of the Wizard on Deadliest Catch) is my dad's next-door neighbor. I haven't seen him for years, but I knew him and his wife when I was younger, and it was weird to turn on the TV and say, "Hey, I know that guy!"

Sig bears an amazing resemblence to my husband's boss, right down to his laugh!

Our TV spends a lot of time on Nickelodeon, though now that the weather's nice and soccer season's here the girls spend more time outside. When my husband has control of the TV, it's usually on Discovery Home, DIY Network, or G4. He likes to critique the cops on law-enforcement reality shows like Cops.

I tend to spend more time reading or lurking around online, so I don't have any must-see TV shows at the moment. I'll sometimes watch The Simpsons, South Park, Holmes on Homes, and Ninja Warrior. I find Bravo's The Real Housewives of Orange County oddly fascinating as well.

Then count us in with the nerds as well, b/c if our TV isn't tuned to Discovery or History Channel , it's tuned to TLC or Animal Planet. My husband and son are Mythbusters/Smash Lab/Dirty Jobs junkies. If it gets blown up or if it's gross - they're into it. I guess it's a guy thing -.

When I can catch it, I like What Not Wear and The Secret Life of a Soccer Mom. On network TV, I LOVE Dancing with the Stars. I don't care what Len says, Mario's Rhumba this week was hot, hot, hot! The other "reality" tv shows I try to catch are Survivor and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. That last one just leaves you with an "awwww" sort of the feeling.

As far as drama goes, I really like CSI: Las Vegas. Something about that Grisham - *phew*! And I'm hoping, hoping, hoping they're gonna bring back Cane. Jimmy Smits - now there's a papi chulo for ya!

I forgot about all the medical shows like "Unknown Diagnosis" and such. My nerdly factor is so high, I try to guess the condition before the doctors!

I like "Inside the Actor's Studio" sometimes, just for the questionnaire at the end. I'm not interested in everyone's favorite curse word, but all those other favorite sounds and words interest me to no end. Yeah, nerd.:D

That's way cool!:D

I don't watch television. I've been trying to remember to watch Gladiators on Sunday nights, but have forgotten for the last three weeks, so I don't like its chances. I used to be obsessed with that show. But year, I usually just watch DVDs.

I'm such a LOST freak! Unfortunately, I have commitments Thursday nights and don't live in the US so I have to do a little bit of looking around the internet to keep up to date, but I am just far too addicted to that show not to.

Beyond that, I like Mythbusters, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Boston Legal and probably some other shows that aren't really coming to mind. South Park and The Simpsons are good, but there's a point when I've had too much of them occasionally.

I think it's hilarious....there was the guy who was busted with his new girlfriend who said to his wife "I was gonna tell you about her, but I forgot!" And the cheated on who go after the other person, not the partner who actually did the cheating! Often the other is unaware that the cheater does have a partner

LOL and the fact that the host of the show claims that he's doing a "community service" by busting these people - c'mon, it's pure unadulterated (pardon the pun) TV trash :D

The Closer it is on TNT
Saving Grace also on TNT
Monk on USA
Psych another show on USA
House on Fox

i too am a deadliest catch fan--and it isn't even b/c mike rowe is just a really nifty guy! that's so cool about knowing sig--i've always thought he'd be a really neat guy to talk w/ over a few drinks!

other shows that are still running: the shield, which for my money has the best writing on TV these days, south park which hasn't been particularly good this season, if you ask me, and how i met your mother b/c i have a huge, huge crush on alyson hannigan.

o! also, cash cab! i love that show! :>

All the Law and Order series are really the only TV I watch on a regular basis. During the day I leave the TV on as background noise, tuned to either one of the news channels or the FoodNetwork.

My guilty pleasure is watching Dr.Phil. It used to be Dog the Bounty Hunter, until the series got the ax.

Mike Rowe...oh yeah! Sexy voice, knows lots of stuff, not afraid to get dirty and an awesome sense of humor!

I don't know Sig. I used to know one of the other captains, who's still my dad's next-door neighbor. I do know Sig's neighborhood and he bears a striking resemblance to Hubby's boss though.

Cash Cab is teh shit! I  :heart: trivia and the host of that one, too.

Discovery has good taste in hosts! Although I've never liked that FutureWeapons guy who talks in the creepy whisper.

Totally useless trivia - Mike Rowe sang professionally with the Boston Opera. Wonder if that has anything to do with "the voice"-:D ?

Also completely obsessed with LOST! (FYI Anomily, last nights epi was well worth the 6 week wait....DAMN!!! Happy to help u out between US airings and yours:) )
Other favs that I DVR are Scrubs, The Office and lately that new show Samantha Who?

I watch way too much TV. My favorite shows are LOST and Battlestar Galactica, and The Wire was right up there until it ended.

At this point, I don't know. Little of the American shows interest me so I'm forced into evaluating all the new Anime series which are being pushed out over the internet. I can't really judge anything until I've seen at least three episodes of anything so it's too early to be making snap judgements.
