I do think it is true...the addage...older is wiser...I aged one year yesterday...and as I reflect...I truly do feel wiser...and much less naive...:heart:

Definitely true. And when you have the vantage point that some of us do, from an *ahem* advanced age, :rolleyes: it's amazing how far we can come over the years.
 
I think I'm going to make a concerted effort to wake up tomorrow with a really bad hangover.

I must be thinking a lot today (so unlike me:)), but this has been on my mind:

Apparently, Bowe Bergdahl's attorneys are trying to get approximately $300k in back pay for the time he was held by the Taliban.

He shouldn't be paid a dime. He voluntarily deserted (pleaded guilty to it), thereby separating himself from the military, and is therefore owed nothing. He's extraordinarily lucky he got no prison time. Now, soldiers are shown that there are no real consequences for desertion. Let's not show them that there can also be a reward. They're all volunteers, God bless them, and most won't even consider desertion. The dog that was killed, let alone the six men - yeah, there are arguments about that - who died looking for him exhibited much more valor and commitment to their fellow soldiers than that sorry piece of shit ever did.

I know, this probably belongs in a political thread, but what the hell, I'm thinking about it...

Good point. I often have strong political views as well...its good to let it out. If I start, I won't stop..lol
