I might get a haircut this week, I think I’d like to go for something different

Today is really going to suck. I've barely slept.

Fearing that cosmetic labiaplasty is destroying the beauty of uniqueness while lining the pockets of coercive, opportunistic and unethical surgeons. It makes me sad.
Bitching about fake boobs?

How is it unethical?
They do it on guys, too. The surgery was first mandated by god, and it’s called circumcision.

You can certainly make a case that mutilating an infant for religious reasons is as unethical as surgically altering an adult for cosmetic reasons. But no one profits much from circumcision. In the case of breast augmentation, it's usually a male doctor with his own bias about how big breasts should be weighing in on a procedure that he relies on profiting from, and which he's motivated to perform as often as possible, whether it's really in the best interest of the patient or not. Perhaps it is--certainly there are men who like them. I'm simply not one of them.
Can’t that be said of literally any surgery or medical procedure in America?
Well, I think that, in general, pediatric heart surgeons, say, do what they do for purer reasons than many cosmetic surgeons. . . .
And I’m sure they do it for a reasonable price, too.
. . .
Why does it weigh on your heart that there are corrupt men who perform cosmetic surgeries that are optional when we have a major healthcare crisis affecting poorer Americans who have no choice but to go in debt to live?
I need a fucking drink. Yes I know it’s not even 10 am est. but my morning has sucked that much.
Oh, of course not. The cost of all forms of healthcare in the US is astronomical compared to healthcare in other countries, and yet our outcomes, like infant mortality rate and life expectancy, are sliding toward the bottom of the list of developed countries. We have excellent facilities and highly trained doctors who can do amazing things in worst case scenarios, but at such a cost that the stress of it may ultimately shorten your life anyway. And we suck at just keeping people healthy day in and day out. Also, even in worst case scenarios, I understand that sometimes it's cheaper to fly to Singapore. But by all means, let's let the free market sort it out.![]()
