What Are You Thinking? Continued 5

It just occurred to me that I’m still observing his advice. “Keep them guessing” - all the moves I’m making, i’ve been making discreetly

For sure...17-year battle with cancer. You shouldn’t have to contemplate your mortality in your 40s

Can we establish a base rule in this thread that unless someone is quoting another post, the new one exists in a space unattached to the one that comes before it?

Maybe that way people can be less upset about accidental slights and put downs.

That is if we are all on board with not being passive aggressive assholes
(Hoping that for once my cynicism is incorrect)

I agree with this. I always assume posts without quotes are stand alone thoughts. I’ve seen a few misunderstandings occur here!

If we couldn’t be passive aggressive assholes, women wouldn’t have anything to post.

I started contemplating it when I was a teenager. Life can be over in a split second and that got into my head through a broken skull then. Do people really not think about dying until late in life?

Serious question, not being an ass. Dealing with cancer for 17 years is no joke, and I’m not making light of it. There’s someone in my life that has been battling it for exactly that long.

I didn’t mean contemplating mortality in a general way. I meant as you encounter a known thing that could bring about that mortality, not contemplating how some random occurrence could bring it about.

Generally speaking, most don’t think about their mortality till they get old because they are to selfish and living in the moment. That’s my observation.
Then someone gets really sick or dies. It comes up front and center for a bit. They then make it all about them and not the person who is actually sick and put on pink, purple and others color ribbons. 🙄
I always find it odd how the living make everything about them when someone dies. “Why me”, “ don’t leave me”, “ they took my (insert relation) away”. They don’t even bother to wonder how the person who died felt. Hence, why I don’t go to funerals. They are for the selfish/living. And I find it very hypocritical how most fall apart at them but lay claim to a faith that promises heaven, peace or resurrection. 🙄🙄🙄

Fair enough. It is different when you know it’s months/years instead of possibly decades away.

Ice fishing tonight.

Time to put the rod in the hole.
Nothing has been proven conclusively...but based on certain facts,
I may just be the best at Ice Fishing that ever lived.

F-yeah!

See, either we can all get along, or I can kill every fucking one of you. All problems solved, peace on earth and goodwill toward men. Happy Holidays. :D
