60 Days left until this house is gone.

Moving to short term apartment ~6 months hopefully

Georgia -> Montana x 1 year -> Alaska

I can’t go straight to Alaska because of job license requirements.

I pray this new year brings you much peace 🙏🌹

That's baloney LOL that's all I have to say, so what if the song is flirty ...😁

It was part of the Me Too movement, The lyrics were written in a different era and could be interpreted as predatory in today’s world.

I believe there's worse things in this world to worry about then the lyrics of a old song.

“Say what’s in this drink” and “your eyes are like starlight now” should be concerning no matter when the song was written.

Maybe, but it could also have meant a few cocktails were shared...like I said, different era with different references.

I’m thinking that 4th in the Eastern Conference at this point and another blow out win has me believing that this year might be different! I’m such a sucker but... Let’s Go Flyers! 🏆

"Aquatic dancer Eve Barrett (Esther Williams), now partnered with Joe Backett (Keenan Wynn) in a swimsuit design company, tries to prevent her sister, Betty (Betty Garrett), from falling in love with Jose O'Rourke (Ricardo Montalban), a suave South American polo player. Unbeknownst to Eve, Betty has actually fallen for Jack Spratt (Red Skelton), a masseuse who is posing as Jose. To protect her sister, Eve finds the real Jose, agrees to a date and also falls in love." - Neptune's Daughter the movie Baby, it's Cold Outside was originally performed.

It's a comedy. When looked at by the standards of the time period it was performed, it was a touch cringey and tongue in cheek humorous. Women were expected to decline a man's invitation to drink, stay the night, etc. The drink is used as a plot device to allow her to do as she wants.

Has it aged badly? Hell yes, it's scary as fucking hell. A redo of the movie would not fly today.

But I will still sing this song when it snows because the movie is a piece of my childhood. Binge watching old movies at my Meme's house on cold, dreary afternoons.

Well said, and I’m now thinking I’ve discussed this topic too much.

Woke up from a slightly sexual dream about a co-worker. Given my tendency to blush at any opportunity, I’m thinking work might be a little awkward today. :eek:
