What Are You Thinking? Continued 4

I was just saying in general no fighting. Intelligent discussions I encourage.

Though on this topic I have to side with the no sexual work wear. It’s a distraction to those attracted to the sex and unprofessional. You want your brain to be noticed then stop flashing your boobs.

He classified sleeveless as "sexy"...

Most baby boomers do. It’s a age thing. Like my grand parents would never let me wear finger nail polish and my mom keep her nails on fleek. Lol
I am not a huge fan of business casual but that is what is coming into style these days.

Tolyk knows ALL about the age thing. Just saying. :D

No fighting folks.
And yeah passive aggressive comments are how the Heathers around here work. Everyone knows I am blunt as spoon so chill and just enjoy your time here. Don’t take it all so personally. Don’t mess up the who’s a of the space.

Btw how are you feeling, I hope all went well?

My issue here is why is this even a topic. It’s just another example of how women are judged by a different standard than men in business or professional situations.

We are in 2019, when are women truly going to be equal. I have been in the professional world for 35 years on two continents and for the last 20 at management or director level. For a long time I railed hard against the principal that putting in more hours and getting better results still would not get me the same rewards as my male counterparts. I worked myself into the ground trying to prove otherwise, while my male counterparts were playing golf or kissing each other’s ass!

Finally I just decided to hell with it, I’m going to use what God gave me to my advantage if that’s what it takes. Went all over me but I did it for 10 years, wore the floaty dresses, the ridiculous heels, shortened the skirts and was instantly better paid and promoted further.

But it made me sick I had to do this to get the same rewards and recognition as the men I could run circles around.

That’s why I now work from home for a company that you succeed in based on your performance, not how high your heels are and how blonde your hair is!

So JBG I also have a real issue with your question, because honestly I understand why those women are dressing in a way you think is ‘inappropriate’ and ironically makes you take them less seriously.

The reason they do this is sadly it still helps us to get further, have a voice and a platform where we otherwise probably would not.

Let’s face it, how many ugly heavy women are actually in highly visible or powerful positions in this crazy world?!

And if anyone happens to think that’s ironic as she regularly strips off on her thread. I do that because I have finally learned to be happy in my body after years of crippling self esteem issues, again thanks to male stereotypes of ‘perfect’ women! So for me it’s empowering as a woman because I’m in control of what I reveal.

Hey, DD. My question wasn't born of sexism but genuine confusion and considerations about human vanity. And frankly, human intelligence. I mean, how can you walk into a board room that you know is air-conditioned wearing no sleeves and then waste other peoples' time complaining about how cold it is? Are the rest of us obliged to adjust the environment for this person who came unprepared? It's not women. There are just some morons.

I was already crushing on most of you ladies, but Tolyk's comments just made me see hearts. I like seeing the Not-So-Mr-Nice-Guy side.

And yea... it gets so fucking old when people act like we can't talk about serious stuff here, call out the trolls, and engage in anything other than fun, flirty banter. That's not real.

*Grin* I don't call myself a nice guy. I call myself a dick usually. When do I ever show the opposite of not-so-mr-nice-guy? Except when I'm flirting with Tink? :p

JBG not going there, I said my piece very clearly, let’s move on and not ruin a perfectly good thread. I’m happy to beat this to death by pm with you if we must, but I my POV will not budge as I have a wealth of experience sadly with this!

I’m holding on. In pain be it’s being managed. Other than that I am sleeping a lot.

Being in pain isn't any fun so its good to know that it's being managed and isn't worse. Hopefully your recovery will become progressively easer.

That’s good to hear and that you have pain management. Sleep is a wonderful thing at times so I wish you much restorative pain free sleep and healing :rose:

Please always know, DD, that I know nothing. I carry my opinions lightly.
