What Are You Thinking? Continued 4

Yes. It is.

Why? Please explain it to me if you feel like it. Women used to wear business suits, but now they increasingly sexualize themselves in professional situations. This isn't something that gets me worked up. I'm just passingly curious about the influences that have led to this cultural change.

Jesus you really are a fucking pig aren't you?

Tink calling you out on this is spot on because your out of line with this comment. Women can and do wear whatever they choose to wear professionally or leisurely and its their business. If they're not in violation of a dress code policy than that's it.

Have you maybe thought that todays society is a little more open minded on these things and living and let live? Don't judge, its neither your place or mine to be doing so. Just let be.

I was respectfully asking an earnest question on a website where there are tits and cocks hanging out all over the place. I believe what bothers you isn't obscenity but the very idea of thinking.

Dude, I have some of the deepest conversations on here with a lot of people from every walk of life.
I enjoy differing opinions, varied points of interest and perspective, but you view women as objects and based on your "musings" or stories,, daydreams, lies, whatever you want to call them, you have a real violent, nasty streak towards women.
It bothers me.
You're a misogynist and it's repulsive. Every time I see someone who's opinion I value interact with you it makes me cringe

No. I don’t feel like it. My guess, though, is that a man could sit there on any TV panel, butt naked, with his dick in his hand and you’d listen to what he had to say over just about any woman regardless of what she wore.

That's simply not true. I admire the intellect of many women, and dismiss many men as morons. I wasn't talking about the intellect of men versus women. I was just talking about my confusion over fashion.

I was a guy who scooped up drunk teen-aged girls from parties in high school and took them safely home to their parents without laying a hand on them except to carry them to my car. I am the opposite of a misogynist. I don't think you're really reading me.

*backing out until people lighten up*

Why though Jenny?
Why do we always have to play nice? I get it, it's an escape. It probably isn't ideal to watch people fuss at each other, but....
When someone is doing something that is detrimental don't we have a responsibility to one another and society as a whole to call it out?
Isn't this site supposed to sex positive and healthy?
Allowing misogyny to run unchecked isn't sex positive or healthy and propagates the rape culture that is running rampant in society these days.
There are plenty of guys here that manage to be happily pervy and dirty and still not act like women are beneath them. I think it's important to make that distinction.

I'm really not trying to be argumentative with you, but I see this all the time from people.
"Oh place nice"
or "Everyone calm down" or whatever.
We are adults on a grown up site.
A VERY grown up site... with very little moderation.

I am going to continue to call out bullshit when I see it. Sorry/notsorry

So because when you were younger you didn't take advantage of intoxicated young women you're a good guy? Shouldn't that be the minimal default setting on every young man alive?

Why is 'a flimsy, sleeveless' dress sexual to you?

They are on television, and that requires FASHION and TASTE. For a man, that's usually a suit unless he's outside where they wear something more casual. Ladies fashion changes.

But just because it's sleeveless or flimsy doesn't mean they are 'being sexy'. Did you have the same question about commercials in the 70's from car dealerships?

I'd like to make out with Tink and Rainshine right now.
But I'm wearing a business suit so it's totally non sexual.

Well, actually, if a woman, or a man, is in a business, it's the business's business what they wear. So companies are no longer allowed to establish standards of professional dress? Can I show up in cutoffs and a baseball cap? Don't think so. This isn't judgment, it's just reality.

Full disclosure: I liked those commercials :D

Again--women used to wear standard professional clothes. Now they are vain about their arms, because they've spent some time in the gym, and have decided to show them off in the middle of winter when no sensible person would wear such clothes. Put on a sweater like any normal person would do. I can't take you seriously about politics if your vanity is more important than practical things like the weather.

My issue here is why is this even a topic. It’s just another example of how women are judged by a different standard than men in business or professional situations.

We are in 2019, when are women truly going to be equal. I have been in the professional world for 35 years on two continents and for the last 20 at management or director level. For a long time I railed hard against the principal that putting in more hours and getting better results still would not get me the same rewards as my male counterparts. I worked myself into the ground trying to prove otherwise, while my male counterparts were playing golf or kissing each other’s ass!

Finally I just decided to hell with it, I’m going to use what God gave me to my advantage if that’s what it takes. Went all over me but I did it for 10 years, wore the floaty dresses, the ridiculous heels, shortened the skirts and was instantly better paid and promoted further.

But it made me sick I had to do this to get the same rewards and recognition as the men I could run circles around.

That’s why I now work from home for a company that you succeed in based on your performance, not how high your heels are and how blonde your hair is!

So JBG I also have a real issue with your question, because honestly I understand why those women are dressing in a way you think is ‘inappropriate’ and ironically makes you take them less seriously.

The reason they do this is sadly it still helps us to get further, have a voice and a platform where we otherwise probably would not.

Let’s face it, how many ugly heavy women are actually in highly visible or powerful positions in this crazy world?!

And if anyone happens to think that’s ironic as she regularly strips off on her thread. I do that because I have finally learned to be happy in my body after years of crippling self esteem issues, again thanks to male stereotypes of ‘perfect’ women! So for me it’s empowering as a woman because I’m in control of what I reveal.
