I am thinking that it was sort of fun to get up in the middle of the night in an attempt to photograph the Milky Way (which is strikingly visible here), but the results on an IPhone were dire...

I'd still love to see it I love astro photography, sadly I'm not very good at it. Keep trying though, and I am getting better

My (limited) research seems to suggest that an IPhone camera isn't really up to the job. It will just have to be a good memory instead.

It is. At home we live in an area with almost no light pollution, but haven't yet seen the Milky Way from there. Here we have seen it on almost every clear night - it is stunningly beautiful.

My (limited) research seems to suggest that an IPhone camera isn't really up to the job. It will just have to be a good memory instead.

I think it's possible to do it with an iPhone, just need either a really steady hand, or a tripod adapter/solid surface to put the phone down.

All this happiness on the boards today makes me think about how I don't really know how to be.

I can fake it. I can have moments of joy, or silliness. But I fail at happiness. Whether it be self-sabotage or just poor judgement or misjudging people and their character.

Something to work on.
