One doesn't, so you have to be hypervigilant in everything you say or do - so it leaves no openings. You don't feel safe with this person.

It's super easy to say you'd go to the mat, put everything on the line or take the big swing when there's zero chance you'll have to.

But if it suddenly became a real possibility, would you still have the same zeal? If that unlikely thing wasn't so unlikely, would you still swear you'd drop anything at a moment's notice for it? If you had to put your money where your mouth is, would you be eating?

You can always eliminate or stay away from as much as possible, the one you don't feel safe with, you don't need that shit around you. It's an energy parasite, sucking up the positive energy you have in front of you.

Nobody should have to feel obliged to chat to somebody they don’t feel safe around.

When I first came here, there was the usual rush of people in my inbox and I was polite and respond to everybody. I don’t like to offend people so I would chat about general daily stuff. The “nice guys” were the worst. I could be chatting about my day and before I knew it, they had turned the conversation into giving me a massage or bathing me. They back you into a corner where you do feel threatened. I would use humour to deflect the situation and the conversation would end.

If I said that I wasn’t interested in that kind of chat and it made me uncomfortable, they would say they were only joking but they would do the same thing the next time we chatted.

But in all seriousness I 100% agree.

As Barefootgirl knows, when I first joined (previous name) I was the toxic one.

I realise how much hurt I caused at the time and it was inexcusable, I still feel very awkward on here at times and hide behind jokes.

I just hope I've grown and am no longer someone who causes distress. We will all have different opinions about things, but I will always try to not make it personal.

I wish that everyone should feel safe to say, no I dont want that type of conversation.

I have a few guys in my life that fit this definition. Extremely easy to converse with, listens to my "babbling", and genuinely cares about me and understands me as a woman...

I've also had issues with men who fit this.
Harder to chat with, they're usually too dominant, lacking the ability to be a great friend...
