I’ve seen some people here opine that there are a handful of men who get all the women here, at one time or another. I wonder if it’s because of people posting in threads like Have You Chatted or Why Haven’t You PM’d the Poster Above You… but those don’t automatically mean there’s something sexy going on between the posters. It’s possible to have purely platonic messages between men and women - I do it all the time. In fact, assume that anyone I say I’ve chatted with is platonic because you’re most likely right! (With a couple of exceptions - I’m not 100% pure )

Btw, it's ok if you tell people about us.

I also arse around a lot on the threads and my chatting is *very* limited, however my personal reason is that I know I'm unreliable in my being here or available to converse on a regular occasion that it's just easier to keep everyone at arm's length. I do make it clear as much as I can that I'm not here to 'find' anyone. Yet still, I sometimes end up in an awkward position of being guilt tripped for posting on threads instead of private conversation. I don't know how to be more clear, and I refuse to dampen my style, and so I'll also continue to stick to superficial as a general rule.

And you're absolutely right. It doesn't seem to matter what reasons women have to be here, it isn't as easy for us to be here as it seems, especially when we know what we want.

That’s a great point. Thank you. My guess is there are more people like this, including myself, that get their validation through genuine connection. That approach was learned over time. My post was addressing the people who are concerned with maintaining their popularity or or complaining about the lack of it. The complainers @cheekygirl75 originally mentioned. But you’re right, most people get just what they need with a very small circle of friends and no one else would ever know it.

Right, the obsession with “likes” and followers is prioritized over genuine connection. Likes being the only way to measure visibility. There are some who actually prefer getting “likes” to comments for that reason.

And again, this being a sex site screws with that dynamic. In one of the posts earlier someone brought up the ratio of men to women here and how there are 3-4 times more men than women. One of the the things I have always noticed was the different way men approach building their popularity compared to women and how they try to connect with them To many of them it’s nothing more than a pure numbers game until they connect with a winning ticket. If the winning ticket is actually a real woman. lol.

It’s simple economics, women here have the comparative advantage. The supply for women is low, the demand is high so they can afford to be choosy. Men on the other hand are in a saturated market. Our value is low so we have to find creative ways to improve our value.

Hence this misguided self imposed need to be popular. It fascinates me.

BUT

it all comes back to us guys in the retirement facility.

IF we don't kill ourselves doing something stupid before we get there.

Please don't take this hope away from me!!!
