I have never done that. Though out of the Twelve-ish or so serious relationships I have ever been in the only two I've ever ended both involved going back to my First. All the rest, they ended.
 
I was thinking about this because of a post in a different thread.

Are there people that are legitimately good at sexting? Because I am definitely not.

It always starts fine. Hot. Then I feel like I'm repeating myself. Realize I have nothing to really say/add. Worry that I'm too focused on the text to masturbate (if that was an option). Worry that I'm too unfocused on the text to get her masturbating. Kind of just want it to be over as it gets awkward and finally lose interest because now it's uncomfortable.

Sexting, mmm no, but there are definitely skillful writers who make good use of a short prompt and an eager reader. Sooooo skilled I’ve been tricked into what can only be described as freeplay roleplaying 🫠

Most of the complexities of Lit have the same answer, it’s simple but not an easy pill to swallow - the connection just has to be right 🤷🏼‍♀️

I feel Its depending on whether there's a connection or not. But I don't beat myself up about it. It's difficult to know what people are looking for sometimes, so you just have to give it a try.

That said - its been a couple of years since I fooled around so I suspect I'll be rusty 😋

As someone who has had a compliment or two (which makes me feel cringe to even say but... it's one of my few and rarely used talents.)

I think seeing it as a movie in your mind, focusing of details, not rushing to the actual sexy stuff, braiding emotion and description and effect together helps. My best sext sessions haven't been while I've been simultaneously masturbatating but, together, creating the fantasy we will cum to later. I also think chemistry makes good sexting - understanding style and matching energy. (ETA I have only found this with so so few people.) When it's good, it's SO good. Don't put too much pressure on yourself! Im sure you're doing great 😉

If it's going to be simultaneous, usually thats for audios or phone calls.

Well, I write Smut, I'd like to think being good at sexting would just flow naturally.
 
I was in a long-distance relationship with my current wife for many years. If I wasn't above par at sexting, I don't know as we'd be together today. I honestly think it helped give me the confidence to become a somewhat successful smut author.
