Once you get the timing figured out for your microwave it produces excellent results.

I often make mexican rice in mine. Basmati rice and tomato bouillon cube.

I KNOW HOW TO MAKE WHITE RICE!!! I make it all the time! But from now on, the only brown rice I will ever make will be white rice with chocolate syrup in it.

So. After soaking that brown rice for approximately 12 hours, I couldn't tell that it had absorbed any water at all.

So it is now headed to a nice farm upstate with lots of land. In other words, a landfill.

And no, I'm not buying a fucking rice cooker.

You could try Wild Rice (might be more up your alley), it's brown and white rice together.....you'll have 50/50 odds of getting it right!

Jesus H. Christ in a rice paddy wagon! I make wild rice! And it's not actually brown and white rice mixed together. "Wild rice" is actually a kind of swamp grass that isn't even rice. So put THAT in your cooker and... steam it.

Well you could simplify things and just go modern with a pouch of "Uncle Bens" 60 second microwave brown rice. The microwave buttons are clearly marked and the box instructions should be easy to read with your glasses

For the love of everything holy, DO NOT buy those 90 second microwave pouches!
Get yourself a rice cooker, you'll thank all of us that have suggested it (I like the Pampered Chef rice cooker that goes in the microwave but that's just personal preference)
