I know it wasn’t

I think when people do actually delete it’s because they’re embarrassed or had second thoughts of leaving it posted and therefore would rather not draw attention to the fact that they deleted it by leaving a reason. Even though tens of people probably saw it at that point

For sure. It’s almost always that I reconsider how dumb my joke was after impost (and really that’s a pretty low bar for me to go under). But I’d never consider explaining that to the PTB for an instant

Especially if it was long term. They say all the words you want to hear and it feels as if it’s mutual but sometimes it’s hard to figure out if it really was in my experience.

The absolute hardest part of any of these things - the retrospective piece that makes you wonder how authentic the whole thing was. Makes you real gun shy on the other side.

I mean, you feel what you feel in the moment, and that's real. Even if you are being manipulated, you still feel those things. That's the doubly hard part - kicking yourself for not seeing those signs if it turns out you misread someone's authenticity.

Usually the only time I delete is if I posted something redundant, or if I posted something out of anger, b/c that's not the foot I want to put forward here.

I'm going to celebrate his birthday tonight and feeling thankful - thankful for him (a lot of kids don't have that kind of male role model in their life), his good genes (I hope I look that good at 67!), his humor (where do you think I get it from?), his patience (married to my mom after all!) and for his daughter.... she's pretty fucking cool.
