I think that really difficult people (to buy for) should give you at least three things that they would like. This way, you could choose one of those things and at least there would be some sort of a surprise.

Hi, difficult person to buy for here. There are legit very few material items I actually want. So feeling the need to create a gift list for people is actually kind of stressful.

Just offering a possible way for neither you or they need to be stressed.

I like to surprise them by thinking outside the box. I'm not adverse to filling a snack basket because I know they snack at night. I loved that my youngest daughter bought me a book at it was one of the genre I prefer! She knows me! I love toast, so jars of jams and preserves end up under my tree. And candles! My favorite gifts have been a package of TP during covid, my dad stocks up anyway so...hilarious tradition now...and a pineapple. My friend knew I loved pineapple. So, we send pics from the store with pineapple and "thinking of you" regularly! Get creative.

I LOVE this idea!
I make a decent living and don’t have expensive hobbies so I just buy what I want. That makes it really hard for people to buy me presents. This would be something I would be delighted to get!

Bostonians feel Boston is, but that’s because it’s been shaped to their values and it’s been very prosperous throughout its history and for the last fifty years. We didn’t feel that way so much in the 70s at it’s recent nadir.

A suggestion for Bostonians is they should travel more . I didn't like Boston very much but then I was always there for a week over Christmas, never in the summer and I wasn't very enamored with the family there.
